Supposedly works like a statin without the outrageous prices and side effects.
Red yeast rice has been said to reduce cholesterol levels due the fact that it naturally contains the substance that is the active ingredient in many statins. I just started my second bottle, I take one tablet per day. I'm holding judgement on whether or not it works until after I have my annual bloodwork done next month. That said, I have not noticed any adverse side effects from this product, so I'm keeping my hopes up that it works on my cholesterol.

easy to swallow. keeps my cholesterol in high normal. My liver didn't like statins.

A good supplement, but it is makes no representations about efficacy.
This product makes to representations about lowering cholesterol. It should not be taken in lieu of a statin if you have cholesterolemia. Talk to your doctor.

Safe alternative with fewer caplets per day
I chose this product primarily because (1) it is one of only two such products to assure a very low level of citmin (an undesirable substance) and (2) the recommended dosage is only two caplets per day vs. four per day for the other "safe" alternative.
