Lightweight and smooth
Overall this is a very nice pen, great for writing or journaling as the flow of ink is smooth and constant. The pen is light but well balanced. The grip is triangular and while that is not normal it is extremely comfortable for writing.

I love everything about this pen.
I’m reviewing the Lamy Safari Charcoal rollerball pen model 317.The true test of any pen is how it writes and what’s not to love about this gem of a writing instrument?I chose medium point black ink. The rollerball makes for an even, smooth, dark line that is perfect for any writing task including journaling, signing important documents or note taking to name a few.If how a pen writes is the most important feature of an ink pen, the next is how it feels in the hand. The injection molded plastic with a matte finish feels perfect in the hand and makes the 317 Safari a pleasure to write with. The only weak point I might find with the Safari is it may not write well on carbon paper which needs sufficient pressure to reach the additional pages. Luckily, most people probably don’t even know what carbon paper is.Great looking, durable and possibly the best writing pen I’ve ever held make this a no brainer for anyone looking for a quality pen without breaking the bank.

Nice Pen
If you are looking for a good looking pen, the Lamy Safari is a good choice. It looks great, feels great, and writes nice. I read some reviews online that stated that it wrote like a G2 pen, and I would agree with that statement. You are really paying for the company name, and the aesthetics of it all, but its always nice to have a good pen on hand.I would totally recommend it if you can afford it. If you go through pens pretty quickly, I'd just stick some Bic pens.

Not great for a gift
I purchased multiples of these for gifts for employees. The pen is really nice. I purchased the Charcoal, which is a nice matte black color. The pen has a very smooth rollerball. BUT the item did not come in a box or Lamy card. They each arrived rolled up in a plastic mailer bag. Very disappointing.

Fantastic pen for people who love to write and like to fidget
I purchased this pen as a birthday present for myself and I'm so glad I did. I like to take notes in meetings and when I'm working on so I can go through pens quickly. For a long time my go to has been the Pentel Energel pen with the 0.7mm tip, but I've been going through them so quickly that it has felt wasteful. Plus, I was clicking them so much I was starting to feel self-conscious in Zoom meetings.I was excited when I saw this pen because I'm old enough to remember when Cross pens were the go to refillable pen. I have long fingers so those pens were uncomfortable to use throughout an entire work day. And the refills ran out quickly. And here comes the Lamy rollerball... Comfortable grip, nice size and balance... Smooth writing...I can quietly fidget with the pen by spinning the cap.I love this pen. I want to buy more. I want to give it as a gift.

I love the Lamy Safari
I love these pens and have several including some knock-offs. This is one of the most comfortable pens to hold, no matter the variant. I just wish they came with better packaging as these are something to be presented rather than just given to someone. The yellow is bright and absolutely hits that retro vibe.

Comfortable and Lightweight Pen
If you've used the fountain pen variant of the Safari, this pen will feel very familiar—the shell is identical except for the omitted reservoir window. Very durable, lightweight plastic with a pleasant texture and a fluted grip that prevents the pen from sliding out of your hand. The clip is very sturdy. This is a very thick pen that sits comfortably in the hand but weighs rather little. (Metal shells eat your hearts out!)The included rollerball refill that came included with my order was the wrong color (blue instead of black); I've noticed that a few others have mentioned this happening in their reviews, as well. If this is of consequence to you, you may need to have a spare black refill on standby or be prepared to return your order should it arrive with the wrong ink.

It's a Pen
I love Lamy products because they are so good looking. That said, this one is a rollerball pen. It looks good, it catches the eye, but it writes no better than Pilot G2s. In fact, if you get to the bottom of the page while writing upright in a journal, the pen fizzles out.

A wow feeling
Fortunately my seller happened to be a genuine one and sent a genuine rollerball pen . The pen looks so bright and fabulous and writes so smooth , I forgot the pain of paying 2100/- for a rollerball pen . The delivery comes in its original case and it is worth the price seeing the quality of the material . I received a made in German Pen . Thanks Amazon for providing such a fantastic pen .
