Q: Does the Drive 6 inch raised toilet seat fit both round bowls and elongated bowls?

My only experience is with a slightly elongated bowl. As long as the round bowl diameter is as large, or larger than the fore-aft dimension of the Drive it should work well. The two adjustable clamps on the Drive hold the device firmly on the bowl.

Q: Can the original toilet seat & cover remain on the toilet with this raised seat in place?. How easy is it to put on and take off?

No, the original toilet seat must be removed first. After you remove the original, you would not believe just how easily this raised toilet seat can be put on and taken off. I installed it myself the day before my husband had his total hip replacement surgeries (both hips in a 9 month period). I took off this seat also very easily when I cleaned with bleach on my cleaning days. My husband is 6'4" and he absolutely could not sit on a regular height toilet or his body would have been too bent and it would have been too difficult to get up & down. I would highly recommend this toilet seat riser to anyone!

Maybe. Ours was used, without attaching it, on top of the elongated toilet bowl seat, and so if where you are visiting has an elongated toilet seat, you may be able to use it.
