WOW!
I own several good bread knives that are quite old now, although I keep them sharp they fail to cut through the bottom crust on my sourdough bread. This new knife is brilliant, no pressure needed to slice evenly and cleanly all the way through. So glad I bought it for £15 on the Black Friday deal too. Buy it if you make sourdough bread, you will not regret it!

An excellent small, serrated kitchen knife
If you're cooking for a family then you really need only three knives, a serrated small knife like this one, a 16cm chefs knife and a small smooth bladed paring knife. This is an excellent smallish serrated kitchen knife. It has a stiff rigid blade with a tang which goes right through the handle. The cheaper knives of this sort, including the Victorinox, are too thin and thus flexible and this is a safety defect. They will turn unexpectedly in slicing through a potato or carrot lengthwise, and you'll find yourself using them less. This one does not do that, and in lots of things its more precise and less effort and faster than using a chef's knife. The cheaper Nogent ones, not readily available, are stiff enough not to do this, but they are quite a bit smaller and more flimsy. Again, you will use them far less than this one.The serrations are on one side only, which will make it easier to sharpen when and if that becomes necessary. If you examine them under a magnifying glass, they are not all that precisely made. But that does not seem to affect the sharpness. To sharpen serrated knives by the way you use a thin rod sharpener and drag it through the hollows of the serrations. This will probably not need sharpening for quite a while however. In use, its perfectly balanced, a nice weight in the hand, and very sharp. You will find yourself using it more often and for more tasks than expected. Tomatoes of course, but also shredding cabbage or greens, separating out brocolli or cauliflower florets, slicing when you would previously have used a chefs knife. It will turn out to be the one you reach for much more often than you'd expect. You can spend half or several times what this costs. The really expensive ones claim to be Damascus steel and are sold with ridiculous levels of hype, but its doubtful they can be noticeably better in use. It is far better value and a lot safer than the cheap ones and should last forever. There is probably no point in spending more, this is about as good as it gets. The build quality and ergonomics of this are outstanding at any price. Its excellent value at list, and is outstanding at the discounted prices its currently going for on Amazon.I was sufficiently impressed to have bought the first at full price, but then several more of them in the Black Friday offer.

Best value for money.
A great knife at an even better price! Very sharp and easy to handle. For the money you won’t get better.

Brilliant
A really great knife. Just be careful if you’re taking it out of the dishwasher when it’s still warm as the handle becomes a extremely hot.

It’s sharp, but slightly mismatched handle catches on your hand
Very sharp knife, it was purchased to replace an older knife of a similar size. The previous ProChef knife had a full tang and rivets in the handle. Although this too is full tang the scales are just bonded on and don’t have the same feel/fit. Due to misalignment of the handle it’s also abit scratchy on the hand.

Extremely sharp
Wanted a sharp knife for cutting slivers of veg and meat, which is certainly does.
