Night Owl1080p Wire Free Smart Security System with 3 Battery Powered 1080p HD Wi-Fi IP Indoor/Outdoor Cameras, Night Vision and 1TB Hard Drive (Expandable up to 10 Wi-Fi Cameras)

I like the facial recognition, and I guess the base unit is OK. However, my other alarm systems work well with my wifi, but this one does not and technical support says that this is the fault of my wifi signal being weak. However, I have ring and another alarm hooked up and I do not have any such issues whatsoever. The app is a joke compared to ring or most any other I have used for an alarm system. it in not intuitive and is cumbersome - at least it was for the period it actually "worked". The application was an apparent afterthought that is at least 10 or more years behind the competition.Setup is rather difficult (you have to hook it to a TV set or a computer monitor to set-up or make changes - real pain, especially if you are trying to place the base station in an inconspicuous place.) and instructions unclear compared to other systems. However, I do like the fact that I can keep copies of the actual video local and they are not "in the cloud". I do not count on this system as my first line of defense to warn me (since the app is so awful and now does not even function and when it does work, butt he time you get in to look at the actual video they would already be in the house), but I use this system merely as a "backup" to the others to provide "evidence AFTER a crime is committed . I would not recommend this system.

We bought these when Our neighbor told us that somebody tried to break into our house and he saw it from his cameras. So we asked him if he was satisfied with his camera system and he said they’re excellent they’re perfect everything was great no issues so we went with the same brand which was this brand everything is exact same as his model, style everything. We put these up and the first few days were great connection was fine everything. now one camera does not really function at all I literally can stand in front of it and wave my hand and it doesn’t even detect me. The Camera don’t notify us until 2-3 mins from motion being detected and seeing how these are wireless free they only run on Wi-Fi so at first we thought maybe it’s our Wi-Fi but we’ve checked everything and the run Wi-Fi tests and everything is perfect. Please also note we use a mesh Wi-Fi system which helps divert and expand our Wi-Fi signal. Also our cameras will not catch motion at night if our outside lights are not on so being used as surveillance for night is kinda defeated and useless. So the last thing is when we do get notified of motion on our phones we can replay it on our phones (iOS and or android) the only way we can see the recording is Through the storage that is connected to our computer. This is a bug that looks like it only effects us because our neighbor has no problem replaying detection recordings. Note also I had worked with I think 5 different tech support members from night owl and no one can figure out why we are having this issue.So long story short I would highly NOT recommend this brand i wish they would just give me my money back and take this whole system back it’s a waste of money in my opinion. I guess I’ll make sure I keep my Second amendment near me and pray my dogs hearing is still good and hope they still like me during bed time.

The system is great and easy to use. Had the hardwire system before and switched to this wireless. Easy to add cameras and even the night owl doorbell.Only con is that you can’t seem to buy the battery cameras and one of the battery cameras with the original system is defective and runs through batteries in hours.

I need a security system for my shop and this is the one I chose. Setup was quite easy once I went out a bought a wired mouse that worked. I filled out the paperwork for a warranty mouse and have not received it yet, that was a month ago. Called for help and got multiple people that spoke lousy English so I have know idea if they understood me or not.So far the system works as described and the batteries are holding strong after a month of use. I still have not figured out the two way communication still working on it.All in all works for my needs. Video quality is very good, incoming sound is good, motion direction is good.Still waiting on warranty mouse.

I just set-up my cameras and the WNVR. Connected everything to the internet. After verifying that everything was working and cameras were paired, I decided to charge the batteries fully. Out of the three cameras, one will not charge past 89%. The other two reached 100%. I tried changing the charging method to use the charger from the other two cameras. But still the one camera would not charge over 89%. How do you find out if it is the batteries or the camera? No support for bad batteries online. p.s. I am using the batteries that came in the box.

This system was super easy to set up and install. It does everything I was hoping for and I like the ability to add more cameras in the future. The app works well and connecting it was easy. Not sure how long the batteries will go before needing a recharge. You can get additional batteries to double the time. Would be nice if it came with them but so far they are going strong almost 2 months now.

For the price and free recordings you get what you pay for. It’s easy install, easy setup. Only problem I have is the battery life. I actually have 3 cameras but due to high volume of motion the 3rd camera is out after 1 full week of installation and fully charging. Overall cameras are good quality great image, nice night vision, 2 way audio. Just the battery life is the only negative

Lots of negative reviews. After using this product for the last three months or so the only negative thing I have to say is that the motion settings are not very effective. You can’t “dial it back” enough and even turning the setting to face only it still picks up cars on the street as faces. This is only an issue in so much as it drains the battery quite fast in my high traffic area. The other two cameras are in less trafficked areas and the batteries last about three weeks there. Overall would definitely recommend this product although the next generation of it I hope can handle more than four wireless cameras.
