I buy these books by Kiran Millward Hargrave for my girls, but they have me so hooked that it pains me to stop each night for bedtime. Every chapter is just gripping and you just get lost in a world of curious and magic, with a bit of truth mixed in.This one touched me deeply as a mother and a daughter who's lost a mother, the depths we would go to for those relationships beyond what's right, and into the darkest tunnels.Read all of the author's books to your kids, or probably even better, read them to yourself.

I am 11 and I really enjoyed this book! I like couldn't put it down and I felt like it was taking me on a journey! The start was a bit confusing for me but it all soon started to make sense and I got Jordan's more artsy bed to this story the more I read! Highly recommend

I had previously read the girl of ink and stars and the island at the end of everything, so I opened it expecting it not to be able to beat them. But as I read and read I could not put it down, I had to know what would happen next! It is the best book I’ve ever read and I recommend it to everyone!!

This is a totally absorbing and fast paced read, it transports you to another time in what seems like another world. As an adult I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can’t wait to see what my son thinks of it.

I gave this to my 13 granddaughter who spends too much time looking at screens, she was (in the words of her mum) hooked and couldn’t put it down. It obviously captured her imagination and held it. She wants other books by the same author.

I am 9 years old and I am writing a review for a book that I really enjoy. The book is really nice but it would be better for a younger child like the age of 7,8 and maybe the age of 9.
