Sonnet RackMac mini - 1U Rack Kit for 2 Mac minis

Solid metal rack box for Mac mini with a perfect fit, on/off switch, and 2 USB ports. Great, excellent quality!

Someone else commented in a review that this was bad value but I think the opposite. Rack mounts aren't that cheap usually and I've paid less for others I have but none were built anywhere as sturdy as this. It's really quite heavy, I've never seen one so heavy empty when delivered, and I say this in a positive way as this rack mount has a security element to it as you basically lock your mac/s inside of it.Unlike a lot of the mac mini rack mounts out there that have no way of securing the macs, this does and would at the very least delay a suspected thief due to how you have to screw the device closed having installed the mac/s inside of it.My only comment would be that they should use non-philips screws but some much rarer type for t he screws used to open/close the case.

Unterm Strich hat ein MacMini im Rechenzentrum nichts verloren. Keine redundanten Netzteile, nur ein Netzwerk-Port integriert, usw. usw.Aber was macht das schon - wenn man denn einen MacMini in einem 19" Rack unterbringen möchte, ist das eine schöne Lösung.Zu beachten ist jedoch ...(1) ein MacMini wird doch schon recht warm, da die Kühlung über das Gehäuse stark eingeschränkt ist.(2) Der Einschub ist nicht sehr tief, somit kann dieser Einschub nicht zwischen andere 1HE-Server eingebaut werden, da die Anschlüsse dann nicht erreichbar sind.(3) der preis ist für das bißchen Blech gefühlt sehr hochWir sind trotzdem glücklich mit diesem Teil.
