Tasty, but could be easier to eat
I remember eating these as a kid from my friend whose parents owned a Mexican restaurant, it brought back memories to try them out again. The flavor is sweet, spicy, and fruity all at the same time. It’s like a flavor explosion that you won’t forget after you try it for the first time. I remember it being hard as a kid as well, so I wish they would have innovated a little since then on the packaging. It’s hard to dispense for me as an adult so I can imagine a kid could easily do it. Then when you do get some dispensed it’s just a tiny amount at a time.Overall, still a tasty snack/candy that’s memorable and cultural. You do get x4 3.5oz containers.

Great value!
Received 4 huge bottles of tamarindo candy. For the current price of $2 each bottle being 50 cents I will order more. The candy is delicious just as like I remember from being a kid. Sweet and spicy, a perfect treat and its pretty hard to finish a bottle in one sitting, so it lasts a while.

Enjoyable 'candy' but the dispensation is stupidly wasteful
TLDR: The candy is quite tasty to folks like me that love peppers, but the whole consumption/disposal experience makes it not at all worth the trouble. Also, no, I see no false advertising here(other than perhaps their assertion that one "simply" squeezes the container). It said 14oz & it's a 4pk of 3.5oz containers. For those ignorant of basic math, 4 times 3.5 equals 14. The containers I got in this 4pk also said 3.5oz on each of them, so I guess they've either updated the pictures(at the time of writing they say 2.8oz on the containers) as they're in the process of updating what you get, or they never had it right in the 1st place. Oh well. The 'candy' is tasty to those of us that like these kinda sweets(chili powder with fruity sweetness), but WHAT the HECK were they thinking designing the dispensers?! If they put thought into it AT all, I imagine it going down like this:"Yo, what if we make it super thick & deliver it in a PHAT plunger-type thing so customers will be tired by the time they're done, but also can't finish off the candy when it's been totally depressed?" ..another in the room: "Hey, awesome idea! That way they'll need pliers or a knife to get at what's left of the candy, which the vast majority of folks won't do! I'm sure people will be fine with wasting money by throwing away more than trace amounts of what they purchased!"Honestly, the squeezing of the bottle turning it into little strands like the hair of the character on the label/in the marketing definitely has the quality of fun a kid would enjoy, but dude, it takes some ridiculous effort to do that! I'd guess that this product was made for such children, BUT it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to learn that most of 'em get irritated at the discomfort their hands/fingers must feel at "simply" squeezing it out! At the same time, since it's so difficult to get the pieces apart thereafter, so one can get the last of the candy, that'll make folks(like me) thinking about recycling reconsider!I do not recommend this product since there's PLENTY of treats that're easier to enjoy & don't irresponsibly impact the environment that're pretty much available wherever one can find these too.

Extra large candy!
These are so much bigger than I realized! What a fun extra large treat for those into spicy candy. This hits the spot!

Classic candy, reminds me of my childhood
I ate these all the time when I was a kid. It was one of my favorite tamarindo candy, especially the smaller 1 oz ones. The taste is classic: sweet, sour, and hint of spice, just like how I remembered it. The texture is chewy and sticky, can easily get stuck to the roof of my mouth. However, these must've frozen inside because they were very hard to push. I had my husband try, and it barely pushed down. I put them in a ziplock bag and let them soak in hot water. That seemed to do the trick.
