Regular scissors work great. My first time trying the thinning scissors (boys haircuts) and it's pretty cool...no more cutting lines visible. The gown is useless for little kids but that's fine. I'm not really sure what the little medallion thing with teeth is. Best guess is maybe use it under a cloth to clean the thinning scissors?

Shears are nice and sharp and comfortable to use.

Scissors worked great for my kids hair! Love the little container to keep everything in, only downside was the cape. You couldn’t adjust it like it shows in the shows in the pictures so I couldn’t use it.

Bought this set because I thought it would be good to have because I've been cutting my husband's hair since the pandemic. The problem is, every pair of scissors we get turns dull after only a few uses. I saw that this kit would have everything we would need and the reviews seemed promising. However, upon using them, they were not sharp from the first cut. Even my husband commented that it felt like I was "chopping" at his hair. I gave up after a few attempts and switched to a different pair of scissors. The thinning shears worked great and you can't really mess up a comb or clips. But the point was the scissors, not the added items or the storage bag. Unfortunately, will be returning and back on the hunt for a good at-home pair.
