CARL Angel-5 Pencil Sharpener (Green)

I'm adding to my review (see Part 1 below) because I sent this back to Amazon and received the replacement a couple days later. MUCH BETTER! The first one was DEFININTELY broken AND missing a part! The new one I received is NOT crooked, does not have dents and chips, AND it has a brace to attach it to a table! That wasn't even in the box with the first one I received, so I didn't know it was supposed to be included.This new one now works REALLY well and FAST and gives a gorgeous point! SO EXCITED!I had to give this one star because I couldn't give it ZERO stars, which is what it deserves. I guess the one star could be for the color, which is a really beautiful teal.I don't know if I got a lemon or a damaged return or what, but this pencil sharpener does NOT work as advertised. I know other people who rave about this sharpener, but this one is finicky.First, it is crooked like it was dropped. There are chips in the corners of the shaving box and dents on the lower corners.It took several tries to get it to sharpen a pencil. I had to get on YouTube to watch a tutorial showing how to use it because it didn’t come with English instructions.Finally figured out how to pull the mechanism out to remove a piece of broken pencil graphite. Now it sharpens pencils beautifully.But it still looks like it has been dropped, and the shavings box is incredibly hard to remove to empty.Hopefully I can return this without having to pay a bunch of shipping because at $20+ this is an expensive pencil sharpener to have to throw away :(This one also came in a box written entirely in Chinese. Are they all like this?

I teach middle school in an urban setting and I can't let kids get up to sharpen their pencils. And the pencil "sharpeners" provided by the school are a joke. So, teachers are always trying to find good, durable sharpeners. I had an electric one that lasted for a few years, but 13 year old boys live to wait until you are in the middle of teaching to sneak their way over and sharpen in a hope to be a disruption. So, I retired that sharpener and got this one. I can put it on their desk, it's silent, and it WORKS GREAT! Super sharp 👌. But, avoid sharpening colored pencils with this. They tend to jam up the works.

Had been using the prisma premier two hole sharpener and my pencils were disappearing fast. Read a comment about this when looking at the reviews of one pencil type or another. So I looked it up, and freaked out seeing some of the what i thought to be hyper-exaggerated points. It was 20 bucks, done deal.I love this sharpener. Great points (yup exaggerated points and lovin it). Seems to be very well made, I expect it's the last sharpener I'll ever need or have to buy.

A friend had one of these sharpeners, and upon using it once, no lie, I knew I had to have one. I have found no better sharpener for colored pencils that this. The point is exquisite. I like the full metal construction and ease of cleaning and clearing broken leads. Superb!

a coworker has this sharpener and loved it so I decided to give it a try since i was having issues with my electric sharpener. This sharpener is similar to the old school ones I used when I was in school, the pencils sharpener quickly and are perfectly sharpened. This has worked better than my electric one.
