The perfect glowing purple
This is my favorite purple!! I was using splat which dies your scalp, fingers, face, shoulders, everything it touches, the moment it drips, and for a week after. This color, you can scrub it into your scalp and after washing the color out, there’s no trace except on your hair. It absolutely glows outdoors. My natural color is a darkish mousy brown, about a 5-6 with about 30% gray, and Ive been coloring my hair for *ages. As the color fades on the ends it turns this cool grayish brown. It takes so well on my gray, I’ll actually let it grow out extra just to get the extra purple effect on my roots. I touch up the roots which gives this nifty ombré effect of purple to brown. Every four or so colorings I’ll color oops remove the color and start over just because my hair tends to suck up color quite a bit.I highly recommend this color, this brand. It’s the most dummy proof purple I’ve ever used!!

My new fav....
I originally had joined the “granny hair” fad but the up keep was totally hell. Mind you I have 3c/4a natural hair. After my last attempt and fail of a routine bleaching and toning process for my grey hair look, I ended up going from an orange blonde to finally just giving up and dying my hair a light brown.....Why am I telling you all this... I just want you to get an idea of what the heck I put my hair through before using this product. After dying my hair brown, I then did my deep conditioning hair mask as well as a trim.I was too sure how this color was going to turn out. I had considered using the Féria Grunge teal since it had grey under tones but I saw this gem and for the price I was like why not.It first came out like a dark blue jean but it does lighten after a bit after about 3/4 washes. Which I don’t mind at all especially on my short natural hair. This product did not and has not dried my hair out at all. It definitely fits me and my personality. I have also had received many compliments. This color really adds something to my curly short locs. Even as it fades (It’s like a teal/blueish jean like color now.)Love th fact it came in three:)

Beautiful color, but does fade a bit
I like the fact that I don't have to pay $200+ to get purple hair at a salon. If you have dark hair like me, be aware that you will need to bleach the heck out of it first. I used Manic Panic Flash Lightning Hair Bleach Kit 40 Vol. I decided to do only the ends of my hair as it's easier to keep up with. The color on the box doesn't last very long, but it fades to lavender, which is ok by me! This is also great for touching up silver/white roots, the color takes very well. I will keep a supply of this in my closet as long as its available. I am in my 50s, and I regret that it took so long to try the color I've always wanted.

Color Sensations: Grape Expectations is Great for Brunettes with Gray
My hair is medium/dark brown with a lot of gray. This covered it all, and I did not bleach first. Indoors with low/medium light, the color doesn't stand out, which is great for looking "professional" for an indoor job. But when you go out in the sun or you have a lot of sun coming in windows, the purple is really vibrant. I've had many compliments. Makes you stand out without looking like a clown. This is perfect for my "midlife crisis"!I altered my review from 5 to 4 stars, just because I have to dye every month to keep the color vibrant. But then, as white as my roots are getting, I have to do that anyway. Still love the color! I don't like to do the touch-up dye the way the directions say; I hate putting it on my roots, then taking off gloves and waiting, then trying to get the gloves back on and dying the rest. So I just start with the roots and take my time working the dye out to the ends. It still looks good. My roots aren't "hot" and my hair isn't worn out.
