Manga University's Manga Tarot (Cards Plus Guidebook) Game – July 7, 2009

I freaking love this tarot deck. I bought it for my 10 year olddaughter and couldn't be happier. The book is so easy and the stories of each card so clear. The language is appropriate for kids and adults and I'd recommend this as a first tarot deck for any beginner. The art is great, packaging is great, presentation of cards is lovely. One thing my daughter did mention is the cards are a bit big to shuffle and hold in her hands and I agree but we are satisified. I am purchasing another deck after this review.

This is an amazing deck. It seems larger than other decks, but it uses cherubic characters that are as delightful as they are insightful. I took to this deck right away! It comes in an attractive box, with an explanatory booklet, including several sample spreads. I am a tarot reader, but also a collector. If you collect decks, this is a fun one to have. When you read, it is helpful to use different decks. Some readers even use more than one deck when reading. Decks do have their respective characters. This is a really cool deck.

I love how fast I got my deck; next day delivery! I instantly love the cuteness of the deck and how for it being my third deck, I can still do accurate readings with it! Plus, I love how it's not like most decks doing both (upright and reversed) readings. The only setback that I see for a good majority of readers would be the pips for the minor arcana is bland. But I don't worry about the limited artwork for those, in my opinion. :)

I just love the artwork on this deck. It is in the Japanese Anime-Manga style (like a cartoon or comic book style) and is 100% overflowing with cuteness. This deck does use pips for the 2 to 10 numbers of the minor arcana. That seems to be standard practice for Manga artwork tarot decks, so I it doesn't disappoint me.Physically, the cards are larger than I expected. They measure ~5" x 3.25" which is a bit larger than normal size. The book that comes with the deck is well done. Over 60 pages with bios of the artist, Saori Takarai, and Psychic Jada who worked with the artist. The book includes interpretations for the cards and a number of spreads to use. It even provides suggestions for making your own spreads.It says that Ms. Takarai has drawn "Manga Moods" and "Manga Sisters". I love her drawings for "The Fool" and "The Magician". They combine the tarot and manga very well. These cards use much of the standard tarot card symbolism on the majors, aces and face cards. That is a nice bonus if you want to read with them.I have not read with this deck. I mainly bought it for the Manga artwork. I don't see the minor cards missing meaningful artwork as a big problem if you wanted to use the deck for readings. It is a fun deck that will not be offensive to anyone. The cartoon characters are fun to look at and also have tarot meaning behind them. While not everyone is going to like this deck, and it might be too cute for many people, I am glad to have this Manga tarot deck in my collection.My box cover looked different. See my photo.

I bought this out of curiosity since I knew a little about tarots and wanted to try it out. The guidebook is pretty helpful and it's not so bad starting out, but you'll probably have to refer back to it when you're reading fortunes like me if you're a newbie.I had some friends come over and they were curious and wanted me to read their fortunes... scarily enough it predicted an event for all of us on Wednesday and sure enough, we found out a party was on Wednesday. Haha maybe there is a bit of truth to these.I do like these cards but they are kind of big and it makes it a little difficult to shuffle. Also, the lack meanings for upside-down draws and what not is a bit of a downer. Still it's great fun to have friends over and read their fortunes.

Beautiful cards! Love them! Excellent quality cardstock. Great for inner child work as well.

Ok. So I bought this deck because I thought i would like it more than my old one. Part of Tarot is connecting witht the deck you use. I also thought it would be a more Unisex deck. Not really. The back is shades of pink and the pictures are real shojo. I'd recommend these cards for girls anday of the week but not so much for us guys. The quality of the cards and the guidebook and cards are outstading though. So, I will try to get past the fault and make these cards my own.

Middle school girl in love with anime enjoyed these as a gift so much! I feel good that the messages on the cards seem age-appropriate and could have a positive influence on her life.

Dice en la caja donde se encuentra el tarot que incluye un libro guía, el cual no incluye.La baraja es más grande que una “tradicional” y es muy simple en sus dibujos.Me la quedo por que colecciono barajas. Pero no es muy cómoda para usarla.

Me gustó, es lindo, las ilustraciones y todo, pero por 2 detalles no le doy 5 estrellas.1) el tamaño, son enormes y eso es poco práctico.2) sería genial el mismo empeño en los arcanos menoresPor lo demás, es maravilloso tenerlo en casa.
