I run a small engine shop and have bought over 6 of these starters so far and never an issue

It fit my 1989 3.0 mercruiser. It's much smaller then the original made it way easier to install the 2 bad design bolts that go up into the engine 🙄. Due to it being smaller in size I was not able to use the support bracket on the back of starter . With that said I hated that bracket as well. Haha the bolt is behind the fuel pump so you cannot back it out with out taking out fuel pump 🤣. Bad Design again . 😅 therefore better then original for my application. 25 minutes to get starter out 4 minutes to install it.

I use DB Electrical for electrical components for my business, (Starters and Alternators)I have had good results with most of the components I purchase through DB Electrical, hence, their supplier.This starter is being used on 1996 to 2006 3.0 Liter Chevy engines.Consistently the last 3 starters have only lasted 100-250 hours of engine operation. They have been inexpensive enough that I warranted them to my customer at my expense, but no longer.I have been using this motor casing design for maybe 5 years and haven't had many problems with longevity. The solenoid is failing internally and not energizing the the field coils and holding the drive gear engaged into the flywheel. They need to correct this with a heavier duty solenoid.If I receive confirmation that engineering has corrected this problem, I will update my review.If I don't, look elsewhere for a GM 3.0l starter for your forklift or Mercruiser.

Fit a 1987 3.0 mercruiser. This starter is half the size of the original so it’s very important to fabricate a back bracket for starter. Never use starter with just the long bolt short bolt, always put back bracket on before use. There’s a threaded hole above new starter on motor block FYI. Thanks DB

This starter worked perfectly on my Mercruiser 3.0 lx in my '97 Maxum 1900! Way cheaper than many alternatives, fast shipping, and what seems to be a good quality part thus far.

j'était septique puisque j'avais un 9 dents auparavant et ce modèle 12 dents remplaçais l'ancien modèle, je me suis donc fier à Amazon et à ma grande surprise j'ai rencontrer aucun problème lors de la pose, à part que vous devez utiliser les vis fournis avec le starter puisque la base de métal à pas la même épaisseur.

This was smaller than my original starter, but the bolt patterns and everything matched up. No problems installing it. Worked just like a started is supposed to. Lol.
