Bought this for a wedding present. It’s beautiful in person, I was pleasantly surprised to see it was dishwasher safe.

Kate Spade Birch Way fine bone china is made by Lenox. This 5-piece setting for one is an attractive and beautifully crafted set still made in the USA. While it has a contemporary look, it includes the traditional pieces in other Lenox sets including a large dinner plate, salad plate, bread/butter plate, cup and saucer. The pieces appear to be banded in 24 karat gold, though I don’t see that in the description. Some pieces I received have a blue ink dot on the bottom, which signifies this is authentic Lenox china.This Birch Way pattern has a crisp white background and floral design, and it alternates patterns using similar designs among the five pieces. They perfectly compliment each other but aren’t exact matches. Two pieces have more delicate floral details that stand out in mostly soft pink, gray and a darker green, while three pieces bring in similar details but also have larger and richly colored dark green and blue leaf details. While the design leans toward being feminine, the larger green and blue leaves keep the pattern from looking too dainty and delicate. Anyone who likes florals should enjoy this pattern.The floral against white is light and airy so that Birch Way is perfect for spring and summer entertaining. Yet the addition of the deeper green and blue leaves makes this a pattern that I can also use year round, especially because I live in sunny So Cal and seasonal changes are mild. Plus, my dining room looks out to the backyard with a lot of foliage, so it suits my environment. This pattern is versatile in that it’s elegant enough for an evening dinner party but has a fresh look that’s equally lovely for a Sunday brunch.Birch Way is a more contemporary and relaxed design than many patterns. It isn’t stuffy or so fancy as to only be used for entertaining. I don’t use my Lenox fine bone china everyday, but I do use it often even when there’s no special occasion as it’s too pretty to just stow away and it brightens up my day. And these can go in the dishwasher and are strong enough for regular use. Kate Spade Birch Way is a fresh and lovely pattern that would be an amazing gift or pattern for a registry. I love it. 5 stars.
