It's a great looking clock and automatically adjusts to daylight saving time so, that's a plus ;0)We bought it for our 80 plus year old Mum who loves it as she can clearly see the face and dials from across the room so, that's gotta be another plus :0)The only minus was the spray-on cherry wood effect... A veneer would've given it a more 'quality' look for the price!Overall... A very nice purchase but, only because we managed to buy it on Amazon for less than the usual price :0}

I could not tell you how many hours I searched for a wall clock that actually DOES tick. I grew up with clocks that ticked and the noise has become a sort of calming white noise for me. I'm someone who has worn an analog watch on my wrist every single day since I was 10 years old.I prefer clocks that are of a more classic style, but not so simple as to be bland or boring. It should be easy to read, have a gentle tick that I can notice when I'm listening, and be nice enough to enjoy looking at. It's less of an item of utility but one of comfort and reminding myself to take in the day and enjoy the time I have now.This clock was the exact answer to what I needed. It's elegant, but not understated or bland. The second hand's tick is very gentle and soothing, much less reverberating than the wall clock I inherited from my parents. It has marks for each minute, and it is easy enough to see. The hands are easy to read, don't cover the numbers too much, and seem sturdy. Additionally, there's this nice daylight savings feature where it should automatically correct the time for when DST kicks in. I haven't gotten there yet, but I've had this on my wall for a few weeks now and I'm honestly tempted to get more.Well done, Howard Miller, this is a clock that you should be proud to sell, and for whomever is reading this, this is a clock that you'll be proud to have on your walls.
