Great kit for the price for any Star Trek fan
My son and I have just about every Halo Mega Blok kit, and the Destiny ones now as well. When I saw this, and the Enterprise, I had to get them. This was a quick and easy build, and looks pretty nice for the level of detail. The stand has it in an "upward" pose, nose high as if climbing out of the atmosphere. It's sturdier than I had expected, considering the thin piece that holds the cockpit to the rest fo the ship, but it's fine for play. For the price, it's a steal.

Beam this up!
I'm an admitted Lego-snob and rarely cross the tracks to go slumming. But, I've been a Trek fan since I can remember so I had to give this a shot. (Even after being burned by lackluster KRE-O send up of Trek a few years back.)I'm happy to say that I'm glad I took the leap!Mega Bloks has done this right. The model is definitely targeted at an older crowd--the scale and colors are good and the pre-printed brick of Klingon-ese and the Klingon emblem are great. The build was fun and the mini-fig of Kor is a blast to play with. The display stand is sturdy and rotates.I am looking forward to getting more of this line.

Impressive model for the Star Trek geek in your life.
I bought this here on a whim when it went on sale, having never built a Mega Bloks set. After reading reviews of other Mega Bloks sets, I was a little worried about quality control, but within a few hours of it being delivered to my front step, I'm now the proud owner of a Klingon Battle Cruiser!I was pleased to find that I had no missing pieces, though there were a few bricks that had some residual flashing that needed to be easily scraped off. Enough about the bricks... This is a really impressive model! The body feels very solid and is very well-designed. It feels better built that many LEGO sets I've built. The angles of the "wings" and nacelles are spot on. It looks even better in person! Best of all...no stickers to apply! Some people aren't bothered by it, but I don't like having to apply stickers on LEGO sets.It would be nice if the build was split into numbered bags so you don't have to open every parts bag right away, but that's just a nitpick.PRO: Impressive build design. Looks great! No stickers. Great instructions (better than LEGO in most instances). Star Trek!CON: Some flashing on a few of the bricks. No biggie.A very impressive first foray into Mega Bloks. Maybe not worth a '5', but better than a '4'

A wonderful replica and fun set
Very often, when trying to reproduce the ships of Star Trek or other shows, building blocks come up short. Mostly, this is due to curves and the like. Surprisingly, the D-7 here is about as screen accurate as someone could hope for.It looks amazing and the fact that it comes with Kor and a rotating base is a major plus. I don't know the particulars of Mega Bloks' license to produce sets, but I sincerely hope that they can make more starships at this scale and at this level of quality.I chronicled the unboxing and assembly of this set in a YouTube video. (My channel's name is ety3rd.)

Good set
This is a good set, and pretty much a must have if you're also getting the Enterprise. I am a little disappointed in that I was missing one piece (thankfully not critical and not where anyone would notice if they weren't specifically looking).

Excellent kit, great value!
Surprisingly detailed kit for a modest price! It's well worth the money, if you're a fan of the original series. Most of the assembly is straightforward, but the two engine pods require careful examination of the parts and colors to get the mirror-image engines correct. It's a minor problem though. Looks great once completed. Now they just need an Enterprise in the same scale! (The $250 Enterprise looks a good deal larger, and way more expensive, obviously.)

Far from perfect, but I still like it...
Okay, so I really like Lego, but I also like Star Trek and I saw this and thought it looked good. After receiving this there are definitely pros and cons to Mego Bloks. First off, the quality of the bricks is not the same standard that Lego has. Sometimes the bricks were either really tight and, in a couple of spots kinda loose. I could also see mold marks and places where the bricks had been removed from the sprues. I felt that kind of detracted from the look in places. The instructions are definitely not Lego quality. Lego instruction booklets are printed on heavy weight, high quality, glossy paper. This was more like mail order catalog quality paper. If you have experience building these types of items then you'll still be able to follow the directions easily. The main issue I had with this is that it was missing a part. Mega Bloks could also take another hint from Lego and number their bags. This set comes with, I believe, 9 bags and none of them are numbers. I had to open 5 bags just to complete the first 8 steps and ended up just pouring them out into a pile on my desk. I like to just jump in and start building but here I had to dump all of the parts into one pile and sort through that pile looking for parts. On the upside Lego could take a hint from Mega Bloks because I liked the included display stand for the completed model. Lego could also take a hint about decals. Specifically, that this model came with no decals so every part that has something on it is printed. Overall, even with the missing part and other issues I do like this model and definitely like the looks of it. I did request a replacement part from Mega Bloks so we'll see how long that takes to arrive but if you like Star Trek and are a gambling person, take a chance.

Almost as good as LEGO at a fraction of the price.
Very nice model. About 90% as good as LEGO brand. Maybe 95%. I found an occasional injection point on some blocks from the mold process about the size of the head of a pin. Blocks fit tight and are tough to take apart. The entire “neck” of the D7 is actually held together to the body by a single contact point so you can imagine that the blocks are a tight fit. I wish it were a little larger but for the price it’s a nice build. I will definitely purchase more from Mega Bloks. Actually glad LEGO didn’t get this franchise I would have to pay 3 times or more for the same kit.
