Motifs: An Introduction to French, Enhanced (World Languages)

Bought the used book, came in good condition, affordable. Book received was exactly like the picture.

Don't really like the style of introducing new French words and phrases with minimal translations. They want you to pick up the meaning based on the pictures that accompany the lists of new words, rather than explicitly say "robe = dress." This works for about half the words, but the other half I don't understand the nuance between, for example, the French words for a man's shirt versus a woman's shirt. If you show me two pictures of shirts, and call them different things, I need to know why explicitly, not just the two different pictures.Probably a good book if you're taking a class with a native professor who can explain these things to you, but not a good book at all for learning on your own.

Excellent condition. No markups or creases at all. Maybe I got lucky. No CD included.

This is a good textbook, it was on time, and easy to take back! just print out the label, drop it off at your nearby post office, and voila! You've learned a new language, paid less for your textbook and gone on your merry way.

Relatively painless introduction to French. The learning modules are well designed to develop a foundation in the language.

In great condition, hard cover so it’ll last and v cheap! Absolutely love it. Although it doesn’t come with access code, it’s okay for me because my class didn’t require it.

I'm not sure if it was the book, or the teacher, or the combination of book and teacher, but it was difficult getting through French. Things seemed oddly organized, and the audio portions were just not it. Even our teacher had issues with the audio. There was some funny drama in some of the skits at least, but really, my highschool french textbook was much better in my opinion.

The book in the picture is the 6th edition. Do not be fooled as I was! the actual book you get is the 3rd edition!
