G9 Halogen Bulb, 60 Watt – 6 Pack – Energy Saving - Dimmable - Soft White 2700K - 120V - Q40, CL, T4 JD Type, Clear Light Bulb

The Brite Innovations G9 Halogen lights are an excellent replacement for my far more expensive Sylvania Capsylite G9 bulbs. I am using these bulbs as a replacement on the hood for my stove. I have 4 bulbs in total to light my stove hood. One bulb burned out a month ago and I replaced it at a local hardware store for approximately $9.00 per for the one bulb. When my second bulb went out, I immediately went to Amazon. I found these bulbs and I was a bit leery of the quality for the low cost. I was also leery of the fit as some bulbs on other pictures are shown with slightly different metal prong shapes, and when reading reviews I found that some other replacement bulbs are longer lengths the originals causing them not to fit the desired spot. I ordered 10 of these bulbs due to the amazingly low price (pictured below are 8 of the 10 as I've opened one of the packs already). 10 of these cost less than 2 bulbs at the local hardware store. The fit is perfect, they were shipped quickly, and they were eligible for Amazon Prime. I would definitely purchase again. If buying, buy in bulk! I will update this post if the life expectancy or bulbs fail to perform as expected. Thank you for reading and rating!

The only reason I had to give 4 and not 5 stars is I’m Very disappointed they are warm white which is a yellow tint. I wanted white light and thought that “soft white” would still be white. It doesn’t actually say on the package what type of light they give off.The quality and value is excellent though. The lower watt is much better for Sputnik type light fixtures with multiple bulbs. My previous 40watt were overwhelming for a 6 bulb fixture.

I installed three of these in IKEA lamps we use in a gallery display, so they're on for about 40 hours/week. After four months I returned to find all three were already burned out. That's less than 700 hours, possibly much less. I wore nitrile gloves from the time I opened the packages to the time I installed the bulbs so I know they weren't contaminated with skin oils.

I tried for a year, looking for these replacement bulbs for the Italian Oggetti light fixtures in my bar. Even though I had the correct type written down, they couldn’t be found locally or previously online. Maybe, I just typed something wrong in the past.They work perfectly!

We have a cheap, imported space heater, that keeps one room reasonably comfortable. This bulb died too soon, but it's only to give an appearance of fire, which is purely decorative, and we like it, because the heat works just fine if the bulbs go out. The little instruction sheet gives a part number that Amazon carries. Take care, because the black interior of the heater makes keeping the tiny screws touchy ... and you need them. Would you buy another such heater? We did.

These for sure are cheaper than the big box stores 40W G9 bulbs, but they are not as bright (close though) and because they are not as bright the don't get as hot thus the color of the light is more yellow than their high quality counter parts.Do they look fine on their own, yes. But if you compare (we have 4 bulbs in one fixture) they are clearly different.We specifically want as white light as possible, but these remind me of incandescent not halogens.

The light is good and easy to install but they don't seem to last like one would expect. I did just read in a review that since they are Halogen one is not supposed to touch them with one's fingers. It doesn't mention that on the package but I know that to be true from other Halogen bulbs I have installed. I think I will give these one more chance and install them by holding them in a tissue to install them to see if that makes a difference. Update on this review. These bulbs don't last. I am going to look for an LED replacement. Don't buy these unless you like changing bulbs. Oh, and the packaging is hard to get into.

So far, I have used one of these bulbs, and it works perfectly. The price was good, and the delivery was prompt.Regarding longevity of these bulbs, I have read that you are not supposed to touch halogen bulbs with your fingers. The packaging does not warn you about this. I handled the bulb only with tissues when putting it in the fixture, and it has been working fine.
