Love it
I have ADHD and I have a difficult time focusing on texts, but the way this is written is engaging. I barely look at the pictures, honestly. I'm most impressed by the way the author explains everything through text, simply and efficiently. There are some outdated bits, like how he lists "bipolar depression" as an off-label use for aripiprazole when (per Carlat) studies have shown aripiprazole to be unhelpful for bipolar depression. I'm no expert, so there may be other errors I haven't identified. Overall, though, I have found the book to be extremely helpful. I actually got pimped on which CYP enzymes certain psychotropic medications interact with and have been able to answer because the book explains it so well. It has been helpful for both PRITE and rotations. Would recommend.

Concise information, but needs some work
Offered an efficient presentation of a huge variety of drugs, some not necessarily referenced in other books. Not sure the diagrams or pictures were all that helpful, especially as many were extremely small. Some problems with the accuracy of information, such as reporting one medication will not increase blood pressure, which is definitely refuted in other research or texts.

Super helpful
First of all, I don’t write reviews but this book deserves it. I am in a CMHC graduate program where a class asked me to know most of the antipsychotics and antidepressants. It was really hard for me to learn the names of the medications and the difference between some of their qualities but THIS BOOK helped me SO MUCH! I’m a visual learner and having the images and catchy phrases helped me learn both medication names! Any student in school to go into a helping profession that would need this information, this book is a great reference to have!

Ease of learning
I love this book, it was very easy to read and you get a full understanding about inducers, inhibitors and substrates. It is loaded with mnemonics to help retain what you read. I will use this book in my practice as a pmhnp to help me with preventing drug interactions.

Excellent reference
This is an excellent reference for understanding and studying psychiatric drugs. It’s very informative and actually very fun to read. The cartoons that depict the psychiatric drugs are very helpful. I would recommend this book if you’re looking for concise information about psychiatric drugs and just want to have fun learning about them.

Excellent reference for psych meds
I love the pictures, makes it so much easier to remember, relate and categorize the meds in my mind. I highly recommend this book for any practitioner, not just people who work in psychiatry!!
