It's a great mouthpiece. I really like it
It's a great mouthpiece. I really like it. As an orchestra guy I'd personally never use it for my orchestra groups, But it's been perfect for solos and small chamber groups that I've been in, and sounds great in higher quality recording sessions. The upper register, for me it's everything above C2 on my tuba that sounds clear and crisp. Good quality.

Great flexiibilty with this mouthpiece.
This is the mouthpiece that Canadian Brass uses and I'm very impressed with it. It's the mouthpiece that Arnald Jacobs had designed for his use in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. It's based on the Hellerberg design but has a wider rim (32.75 mm) and a larger throat (8.75 mm). I play a 5-valve CC tuba 4/4 size with a .770 bore, and this mouthpiece allows a lot of air to be freely push into the the tuba. This is really for the more advanced player who has developed good breathing technique and a strong emboucher. It offers excellent articulation, a strong core sound, and the ability to play the high register as well as the pedal tones. Ideal for large bore 4/4 and 5/4 size tubas.
