Great teen book, or even for the parents to read. I recommend all of Robin's books. She has a few adult series out as well.

"Samantha Sanderson On the Scene"
About this book: “As Samantha and the rest of the middle schoolers prepare for the upcoming Spring Fest, 'mean girl' Nikki faces the reality that her parents are getting divorced. It's hard for Samantha to sympathize because of Nikki's mean girl reputation. But when Nikki becomes victim of a string of attacks, Samantha takes it upon herself and her super sleuth abilities to get down to the bottom of the bullying. Plus, articles on bullying are just the kind of serious topic the school paper needs instead of fluff like popularity tips. Samantha enlists the help of her tech-savvy BFF, Makayla, and while the two track down clues, they leave a trail of trouble behind, and may even be directly responsible for a break in of their very own school's computer lab! Nikki is touched by Samantha's assistance and warms up to her, which only makes Aubrey all the ruder to Samantha, but Samantha doesn't care. She's comfortable in her own skin, and vows to help others feel the same way. The Samantha Sanderson series is about an ordinary girl with extraordinary dreams. Each book touches on a crime straight from headlines, from bomb threats to bullying, while following Samantha and her friends as they navigate middle-school and questions of faith.” Series: Book #2 in the “Samantha Sanderson” series, which is part of the “Faithgirlz” line. {Book #1 "Samantha Sanderson At the Movies"}Spiritual Content- Psalm 32:12-14, Proverbs 31:8, Ecclesiastes 31:1-8; Those scriptures get expanded on at Youth Group; Many Prayers; Sam learns to Trust God.Negative Content- Minor Cussing including: a ‘oh my gosh’, a few ‘shut up’s; Bullying is a major part of this story, the girl gets called fat and ugly.Sexual Content- Crushes & who-likes-whos are mentioned a couple of times.-Samantha “Sam” Sanderson, age 12 P.O.V. of Sam 247 pages~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Pre Teens- Three StarsNew Teens- Four StarsEarly High School Teens- Five StarsOlder High School Teens- Four StarsMy personal Rating- Three Stars (and a half)While I liked the first book in this series, “Samantha Sanderson At the Movies”, I did like this book. Fellow homeschoolers might not be completely interested because bullying (at a public school) and divorce play major roles. All in all, a great Christian mystery for girls of all ages, just like the first book.I’m really looking forward to the next Samantha Sanderson book!*BFCG may (Read the review to see) recommend this book by this author. It does not mean I recommend all the books by this author.*I received this book for free from the Publisher (Zonderkidz) for this review.

Review of "Samantha Sanderson On the Scene"
"Samantha Sanderson On the Scene" by Robin Caroll247 pagesSynopsis:As Samantha and the rest of the middle schoolers prepare for the upcoming Spring Fest, 'mean girl' Nikki faces the reality that her parents are getting divorced. Samantha has a hard time sympathizing-Nikki has never been nice to anyone, let alone Samantha. But when Nikki becomes victim of a string of attacks, Sam uses her super-sleuth abilities to get to the bottom of the bullying. After all, articles on bullying are just what the school paper needs, instead of all that silly stuff like popularity tips. Samantha enlists the help of her tech-savvy BFF, Makayla, but while the two track down clues, they leave a trail of trouble behind-and may even be responsible for the break-in of their very own school's computer lab!Spiritual content:As I said in my review of Samantha Sanderson At the Movies: Sam, her family, and most of her friends are Christians.Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 is quoted.Positive content:In this book there are no bad words. It is a clean, Christian novel that is great for Christian tween or teen girls.Negative content:Language: Idiot, shut up.Negativity in story:This story focuses on finding who is bullying Nikki, and bullying is very serious. Sam has a crush on Luke Jensen. Sam says, "... but lately, every time she got near him, Sam's mind refused to remember how to speak. " Sam's friends talk about how 7th and 8th grade boys would make cute couples.Characters:Samantha "Sam" SandersonJoy Sanderson (Sam's mom)Charles Sanderson (Sam's dad)Billy CostiffJefferson Cole (Nikki's brother)Nikki ColeAubrey DamasKevin HaynesFrannieMarcusMakayla AnsleyMelanie OlsenPaul MooreFelicia AdamsLuke JensenRemyTam LeeMrs. Trees (principal)Mrs. PapeMrs. CreegleI hope you enjoyed my review of On the Scene. I very much enjoyed both At the Movies (Book 1 of Samantha Sanderson series) and On the Scene (Book 2 of Samantha Sanderson series).~*~I give this book 4 of 5 stars. I would have given it 5 of 5 but the subject of the story (bullying) and other things I talked about in the "Negativity in story" area made it this way.Age appropriate:For ages 12+Make sure to follow me on my Pinterest and check out my Pinterest board of books I've read!!And if you haven't already signed up for the Girls of God's Grace newsletter I write, do so now.
