It was initially not at all comfortable for me as designed. Plus it didn't rock and slipped on the rug. I was about to return it but tried a small adjustment,. I added a memory foam seat cushion to the narrow pad and placed that end next to the chair. I use the wide pad as a footrest. The cushion is comfortable and supportive for my legs (photo). It made all the difference! Now it is comfortable, rocks,, doesn't slip on the rug and looks good. I can also use it under my desk as a footrest with slight elevation. I cancelled the pending return option and very happy with the footrest.

I bought this foot rest as a possible way to alleviate the swelling of my feet and legs when seated with feet on floor for even a short time. Assembly was easy - four screws and a phillips screwdriver. The first time I used it, I was very pleased with its comfort, the fact that it can be used with almost any kind of chair, and would be useful in the car or at most any kind of event. ...... However, when I tried to nudge it aside to get out of the chair, the thing collapsed onto my foot with a bang. Big OWWIE! I immediately filled out the return request with plans to get my money back. I liked the possibilities of it so much, though, that it warranted a little problem solving. The collapse happened because the support leg fits into notches on the rocker, but nothing holds that in place. The leg slides out of the notch with the slightest provocation. I thought the wood in that notch area would become too weak if anything was done to it, so instead I used a velcro strap to connect the two cross braces. The thing can no longer collapse! Works like a charm, except that the strap must be removed to fold up the foot rest. I think the manufacturer should include something like the velcro as a safety issue, but it is a cheap fix. The return has been cancelled.

The base fell apart -- cross dowels 100% loosely inserted, dropped right away. Do I try to glue them back together? or try to return the item? Both foot-rest parts also moved in every direction; very loose, wobbly, unstable design.

It is very comfortable. Love the design. Only dislike is the fabric is a little scratchy on the bare leg. Should have gotten the solid instead of the pretty pattern. I just put something soft on it.

Pretty and fairly easy to put together, but poorly made. Dowel is too short and will not stay intact. This was too expensive for this kind of error. Will not buy again.

Many other reviewers complained about this being unstable and dangerous, because you can get your fingers caught in the mechanism or your toes slammed when it collapsed. Another reviewer mentioned just using a velcro strap across the bars on the bottom to hold it in place. So that's what I did, and it worked like a charm. I used two straps. One is a 24 inch strap. The other is a 12 inch strap. You can pick it up any way you want, and it won't move.As for the feeling, it's okay. It's not very padded, but it works well enough. I do wish it had a little more padding to keep my Achilles tendon from feeling the edge a bit more. But you can always add a little foam over it if you want, or wrap it in a towel. For the price, I'm not complaining. It's a better way to keep your legs positioned watching TV than parallel to the floor with knees locked, as you would with an ottoman or something.

I would send this back but the person I bought it for says it’s better than nothing. Not by much I’d say. As other reviewers noted, it is remarkably flimsy and lightweight, the paint is already dinged, and it’s not adequately cushioned to be comfortable. Beware if you have children in the household - because it is flimsy it will fold up and pinch fingers badly if you move it at all, like when you pick it up to move it or adjust it.With significant modifications (cutting up a piece of rubber to line the grooves and bottom so it doesn’t slip, adding a piece of foam to the calf rest, touching up the dings with a brown magic marker) it is usable but there has to be something better available. I’d advise others to keep looking and not select this one if possible.

Nice size, easy to assemble but came mared with several scrapes on it. I am glad I didn’t buy this as a gift or a present for someone because it would have been embarrassing. But for myself it will work just fine. The function not the appearance is the most important to me.
