Q: Would this be a good option for using as a percolation cone for making tinctures?

Our only experience with this product is making coffee and tea.

Hi there,You don't have to use a cloth or paper filter, but bear in mind that for hot brew you'll want a slightly coarser grind than your usual drip method. Start with a French press grind and experiment from there!

Q: Are the filters made from organic paper

The filters I use are organic paper. These a purchased from another vender. The coffee maker is shipped without paper filters.

Q: How do you clean this after you have brewed coffee?

Hello! As mentioned already, both the top and bottom can be either hand- or machine-washed, particularly the bottom carafe. Personally, I would just rinse the filter out to clean, rather than putting it in a dishwasher, as it acquires a "seasoning" over use which will enhance the brew. If you want to wash the top glass part in the dishwasher, I recommend removing the stopcock assembly first. Hope this helps!
