I chose this product because the description says it is made of brass and rubber. I arrange flowers in my kitchen and wanted a flower frog with no lead. However, this tests highly positive for lead using an at-home swab test. The product description and materials section should be updated to be more clear this is made of lead like other flower frogs.

As someone who has always loved ikebana floral arrangements, I thought I’d give this set a try and try ikebana for myself.Right away I could feel the quality of this kenzan (pin frog).- It is really well made with no bent pins or scratches in the base.- They are heavy (which they need to be hold larger floral/leaf stems).- The pins are arranged uniformly allowing you to easily put a plant stem anywhere in the holder.- The pins are sturdy meaning they will hold the placed stems in place, and they are made of brass and stainless steel meaning that these are rust proof allowing you to place them in water which is important as this ensures that the placed flowers and stems to last for several days or a couple of weeks depending on the species.- The rubber gasket provided perfectly fits and ensure the kenzan doesn’t move around when placed in the vase/plate.Next up for me is to get some decent flowers and a decorative flat vase/plate to submerge the kenzan in.Overall I’d highly recommend this if you are a ikebana expert or want to try ikebana as a new way to arrange decorative flowers.

The "Wazakura Dense Ikebana Kenzan, Made in Japan Flower Holder for Thin Glass Flowers Arrangement, Japanese Round Pin Frog - 80mm(3-1/4") Brass" is very stable and does a great job holding flowers with sturdy, thick stems in place. The holder is densely packed with spikes that are about 1.5cm long, and sharp. They poke into the stems of your flowers. This doesn't work well with flowers that have flimsy stems or need longer supports, but works very well for short cut roses.
