Q: How durable are these? I am looking for earmuffs that won't break from constant use.

These are the only hearing protectors I have used for 10 plus years. They are comfortable, provide a decent level of noise reduction and reasonably priced. I do construction full time. They are quite durable as well.

Q: WIll this block out my roommates' shouting and playing music?

Not really thats why i bought these to dull the sound of neighbours playing loud music...they won't work alone but if you buy some of the cheap orange ear plugs and use it along with this it will work

Q: can you sleep in them

Only if you can sleep on your back comfortably. Sleeping on your sides with them on isn't really feasible.

Q: Could these be worn comfortably at night while sleeping?

Only if you sleep on your back and not on your side. The yellow part is hard plastic. Work great to keep sound out.
