Fostex T20RPMK3 Closed Headphone, Black

I have found these headphones to be very durable, and can handle rough use if required. I think the logo on the headband looks cool too. These are reasonably heavy and get a bit hot/sweaty on the ears when using for long periods of time.I'd recommend the Brainwavs sheepskin angled earpads as an additional purchase, which made a world of difference in not only comfort but also sound quality. These earpads are easy to swap and do not require any tools.I will say that these headphones sound best with a powerful headphone amp since they employ a planar magnetic driver technology which is typically more power-hungry than traditional and much more common dynamic driver technology. I use a Schiit Asgard 3 amp which seems to be more than enough power (3 Watts), but only on the high gain setting. The low gain setting on this amp seems a bit "lifeless" and flat. The higher power/gain setting sounded more dynamic and controlled.The sound is excellent! Very good bass response and a fairly flat response curve, which I prefer. The sound is clear without being sibilant. A flat response curve allows you to use them with any type of music and they will sound good. There are +5dB peaks at 100Hz and 4500Hz and a -5dB dip around 8,000 Hz that you can EQ out if you have the ability to do so in your playback software, then they sound just about perfect, to me. I think these headphones represent very good value for money.

Ricorda l'amplificatore, almeno un watt (1000 mW) per canale: chi parla diversamente, mente; e non sto proponendo di sfondarsi le orecchie, sia chiaro: la cuffia trasforma tutto in qualità. Io ho un Topping Nx7 per quando sono in giro, un Technics SE-A1000 mkII le aspetta a casa: amplificatore a chiodo, o quasi, e casomai volume basso al player, sempre senza estremizzare il concetto. Non badare le opinioni dei fessi che credono con 100 mW per canale di potere amplificare e giudicare. Le Fostex T20rp Mk3 vogliono corrente, e ne vogliono tanta, più o meno tutta quella che c'è, fino a 3 watt per canale, o poco meno. Per quanto riguarda la musica, non esitare, non esitare: valgono quel costano almeno quattro volte, è pazzesco; le T20rp Mk3 son la variante aperta, che esalta le basse frequenze (trovi anche le 40 e le 50 qui su Amazon, identiche ma chiuse e semiaperte), e le basse frequenze sono gestite con tanta generosa e serena semplicità, fedeltà, pienezza, potenza, che il suono è bello, bello e non so se ho mai sentito di meglio. Qui la house e la techno non è il bass boost del cavolo con la pompatina stupida, solo perché sia chiaro, c'è una sorta di fusione tra studio di registrazione e discoteca, una sintesi di una divertente e intelligente felicità più unica che rara. Ed è così che anche Nasdaq Giù di Chighine, More The I Have di Consoli e Marcolino, Nameless di PQM, bassi e casse capaci di mettere alla frusta impianti robustissimi, qui escono finalmente definiti fino all'ultima soglia dell'udibile, una bellezza, una bellezza. Ma non credere che con David Bowie, Sepultura, Metallica, Nirvana, Linea 77, Vasco Rossi eccetera eccetera ci sia da godere meno: tutto arriva equilibrato, fedele, ancora fedele, potente e nutrito, distinto: puoi seguire ogni singolo suono, ascoltare ogni singolo strumento, non c'è mai un pasticcio, mai una confusione, mai un'alterazione della pressione sonora e finalmente, finalmente, mai, mai un suono alto finisce per pungere le orecchie: gli alti sono ancora come le medie e basse frequenze, e non scappano mai, non feriscono, non costringono a riequilizzare o abbassare il volume: mai; io ho ascoltato centinaia di canzoni dei generi più disparati ad equalizzatore piatto, pur essendo questa Fostex T20rp una cuffia meravigliosa da equalizzare, meravigliosa! Niente effetti speciali, niente che non sia nell'opera che stai ascoltando, ciò che arriva in cuffia è rigorosamente Hi-Fi, alta fedeltà, solo che arriva con tanta pienezza e rotondità che dici: "io me le porto a spasso!" Certo, ti trovi a girare con mezzo chilo di dongle, se non due - perché un gruppetto dac più preamp prima del finale di potenza e con bilanciere proprio qui sì, per davvero, per davvero, ha significato e prospettiva anche per studiare e imparare l'audio, cosa succede e come si comporta - ma se non ti dispiace accompagnare queste cuffie straordinarie con una poca di artiglieria da campagna, stai certo che sul fronte della musica godrai una collezione di vittorie!E poi c'è il filone della modifica, della customizzazione, di cui ancora so poco e saprò poco ancora a lungo perché a me queste cuffie vanno a pennello: comode, leggere e bene assemblate, bellissime esteticamente, prima che io muova i miei cacciaviti stavolta passerà un bel po', ma esiste una comunità vivace e appassionata di parti di ricambio o di sostituzione, da comprare o da costruirsi: uno spettacolo nello spettacolo.Consiglio vivamente l'acquisto delle cuffie Fostex T20RP Mk3.

I bought the T40RP from amazon but I also have T50RP and T50RP dekoni blue.I like all of them but T40RP would be my pick if I only could choose one of them.Important information:T20RP is open.T40RP is closed.T50RP is semi open.Swedish amazon have mixed the models up.If the order says T40RP you will get T40RP but the T40RP is closed and not open as it says on swedish amazon.Just order the right T20RP if you want open headphones and T40RP if you want closed headphones and you will be OK.I love these headphones. The planar magnetic element is excellent and the T40RP is the perfect rock/hardcore/metal headphone in my opinion.It is studio quality sound and a very light and comfortable headphone.The first days the headphone will clamp pretty hard on the head and it should but soon the headband will adjust to the size of your head and feel good. Just use the headphone normally and it will adjust.The T40RP has a lovely detailed sound without being too detailed, it is just right for every music genre I throw at it!Don't believe reviewers saying that the T40RP is the least favourable of the three because it is purely fantastic with just the right punch.Other reviewers suck, trust me, I got taste and style and listen to all music styles!The T40RP can be driven with a phone and it is much better than the T50RP with just the power from a phone so if you won't use headphone amplifier or a premium music phone with a quad DAC and powerful amp like the LG V-series I suggest you stick to the T40RP because the bass is much more lovely if driven by a regular 3.5mm phone jack than the bass of the T50RP.With a quad DAC phone or a good amp you can have a good experience with all of the TxxRP headphones, it is up to personal taste really.Good luck and don't count the T40RP out, it is a fantastic headphone for punkrock, hardcore, metal and any energetic music while being no slouch at any music style!

Endlich hab ich den Kopfhörer gefunden der mir tontechnisch am meisten zusagt. Ich habe schon viele Kopfhörer gekauft, aber keiner konnte mich überzeugen, da bin ich sehr sensibel.Ich finde den auch besser als den TH-600. Unglaublich was der drauf hat. Einzig die Ohrpolster sind etwas dünn, aber Ersatzorpads sind bereits unterwegs.Ich wollte aufgrund der langen Lieferzeit schon stornieren, gut das es zu dem Zeitpunkt nicht mehr storniert werden konnte.

Le son est vraiment très agréable mais les coussinets tous plats écrasent les oreilles et c'est très frustrant. On voudrait le garder sur la tête tellement le son est bon mais ça fait mal. Si on change les coussinets pour des plus confortable, ça change le son, donc peu d'intérêt pour moi. Je n'ai peut-être pas su trouver la bonne config mais je ne m'attendais à ce que les coussinets soit si plat. Je l'ai donc renvoyé regret car j'adorais le son.
