I bought 10 of these for our organization for a Dell Latitude E5540 and they work great. I tested each one to make sure they all worked. Just be aware that they come with a lock on the right side and if set in the lock position you won't be able to dock or undock the laptop. Just set the switch to the unlock position and you are all set. Also, the docking station lights turn on when the laptop is connected to it without the power adapter. If you have problems charging the laptop while docked, make sure the power adapter is completed inserted to the back of the docking station and that the it is put together tightly as it come in two pieces. Although they don't come in the original Dell packaging they look new and at least $100 cheaper then getting it directly form Dell. Great buy and seller!

The docking station does everything I had intended. I have purchased two units - one for home and the other for work. I use the Display Port, VGA port, Ethernet connector, and three USB connectors for various peripherals on the docking stations in my installations. I would give it a 5 star rating instead of 4 star only because the process of releasing the laptop from the docking station is accompanied with a rather unpleasant mechanical "clunk". I think it is due to the plastic latches on the bottom of the docking station not fully withdrawing when the release button is pushed. I don't know if this will deleteriously impact long term durability. Irrespective of these comments, so far (about three weeks of "heavy" usage - implying repeated docking and undocking operations - as of this writing on September 25 2014) both docking stations have functioned well.

Cheap for a reason. Make sure you know what features you need.
I had a very SPECIFIC NEEDS for this dock, which it didn't perform very well.-Charging (doesn't seem to charge the laptop, even with a 180w power supply plugged into the dock).-Support for 3 external monitors (only seems to support 3 total displays, including the laptop. I ended up buying a USB-DVI adapter).-USB connectivity (not ONLY did all the ports not work, TWO of my ONBOARD ports stopped working when docked). Please note, I'm using a rather new model device that MAY not be fully compatible, the Dell Latitude E7240.

I buy these regularly for work. I only buy the ones listed as "New". In many cases the ones listed as "New" are clearly not. However the ones I buy from EZ_ELECTRONIX appear to be "New". No issues. It is what it says it is.

Works, but came with the wrong cord and possibly adapter.
The dock works perfectly except for the fact that this shipped with a completely different cord than is required to use this. Instead of a Volex VAC5S cord that is required to power this, it came with a CH10S3, a completely different type of cord. But luckily for me, we have a lot of extra types of cords around the office and we just happened to have the one I needed on hand. After setting up the new docking station, I received an alert on my M6600 stating that this power supply was not sufficient to charge my laptop. Now this might be because it's a high powered engineering laptop and most laptops would be fine using this adapter, but I'd think twice about getting this for something that draws a lot of power. Comparing the two adapters (the one for the original docking station and the one that came with this) they do indeed have different outputs. But since I had the old adapter, I plugged it in and the docking station worked fine. Even having to get a new adapter this will still end up being cheaper than going through Dell. If only I received the right cord and power supply, this would totally be a steal. But if it wasn't for the fact that I happened to have the exact cord I needed laying around I'd never have had the chance to try this without ordering the right cords.

Works well with my Dell Latitude e6400
This is good an inexpensive. The only negative thing i would say about it is that when you dock the laptop its not a level fit. I put an old CD case under my laptop and it works fine. It saved me a few hundred on not having to buy a desktop computer. It also has two monitor capability

Great deal
I've been buying these on Amazon instead of Dell for quite a while. The price is so much better. I've always had good luck, even with the used ones. They work great for E-series laptops like the Latitude Exxxx models. There is room to plug everything in including USB, Ethernet, monitor, power, etc. so all you have to do is set your laptop on and push down to lock it in place.

Triple-check your Laptop's compatibility Plug in Peripherals & Win!
Exactly what I needed.Pros:- Absolutely simple set-up- Good quality everything fit as it shouldCons:- Wish it were easier to identify which laptops go with which docks- Now i'm more productive at home than at work.Attached two monitors to mirror my at work office set up and now home vs work productivity is nearly identical. but with less interruptions :)
