I have a lot of fishing reels, this reel has the worst finish I have ever seen on a new reel. I first noticed on edge of the reel foot has a rough edge, so it feels like a fine saw blade. I then checked the rotor and that has rough edges on both sides, running the full width of the rotor. This reel has either missed a stage during manufacture to keep the price low, or the molds used to cast the plastic body are very worn.The reel operates OK, it has fabric drag washers not carbon as mentioned in the description, in fact I have noticed that the top part of the description is for a different reel and not this reel.The reel I had was a 2000b, the body and gears are 1000 size with a 3000 size spool with a 4000 size rotor, the handle is quite large and I suspect it is the same handle on all of the reel sizes.

Initial turnover of handle stiff to activate bail arm, hopefully it will ease up with more use.Not bade for the price.

I picked up this compact reel for my daughter to use, as she has said she would like to give fishing a go. I have several multiplier reels but wanted her to use this to start of with, as this type of reel is easier to use.This reel is noticeably light and easy to use. The handle is foldable when not in use. A simple button switches it between forward and reverse. The mechanism is almost silent and exceptionally smooth. The bail arm is quite stiff on return, but I would expect this to loosen after some use.Line wise, I am going to load it up with 200+ yards of 12lb line, which is more than enough for her usage. If she is up to it and wants to, this reel is going to great for some mackerel fishing, with a light rod. Not just hailing then in, instead having some play.Everything on it feels well made and it will be interesting to see how is lasts with saltwater contact, although I always rinse my reels down with warm water when I return.As the summer is now here, we are looking forward to our first fishing expo together ands I hope you likes it.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful.
