IF YOU ORDER MAKE SURE ITS SHIPPED FROM HUNTERS BUNDLES NOT AMAZON DIREST>>>First time out tip broke. No Fish on, No snag. Snapped while skipping a rubber frog. I would have expected more from Abu Garcia. I purchased 2 of these and received them last week. First time out and 1 all ready snapped. They say they can hold a weight of up to 1 oz. This one could not stand a rubber frog. Junk.UPDATE::::: used the other one last night and caught a few nice size fluke and cocktail blues. Rod held up the way it should without any issues. SHIPPING on this rod was in a nice solid tube from HUNTERS BUNDLE. The other rod was direct from amazon. The amazon one came in a broken, soft, oversized cardboard box. Rod could have been cracked during shipping.

I was skeptical about getting a good price on a used rod. Rod showed up today in a warped, smashed box that had only a single piece of paper for packaging. One end of the box was open enough that I could slide the rod out without cutting or tearing tape. 3 of the 9 line guides were bent past a 45 degree angle. Not going to fool with returns for this. Just hoping it wasn’t a total wasteEdit: line guide is missing the ceramic insert on the very bottom. Going to try returning

Very lightweight and durable for the price. Abu Garcia says this generation Veritas is 5% lighter and 15% stronger. Looks and feels great. Can't wait to use it in the spring

I have already shipped the broken rod back, picked up by UPS, I have received the new Rod, but received an email stating that I still need to send back the original broken Pole!!! Very frustrating!!!

I purchased this rod because it was $99 everywhere else. When I received it, I realized why it was cheaper, it was most likely a damaged returned rod. It had 2 large "stickers" wrapped around it, one was a lime green color, when I removed the green sticker, under it was a large scratch down to the bare graphite and a cut on the bottom section of the neoprene handle. Unsightly? Yes. Does it effect the performance of the rod? I don't think so. Did I save a "few" bucks? Yes. But not near enough had I known that I was buying a blemished rod. No where in the add did it state it was "blemished", that is BS, and for that fact, this only gets a one star review.

I'll start this review by saying that I have 4 Abu Garcia reels and rods combos and favor the brand. I even joke with my fishing buddies that I'm sponsored by Abu. So I was very excited to get the new Veritas rod. Flash forward to my second outing with the rod and I'm hooked onto a red fish in the marsh and the tip of the rod brakes on me. I haven't had any issues with my Abu Garcia rods before this, so I'm hoping this is an issue with a new manufacturer or something. For this, the product gets a 1 star. Do not purchase.

I cannot believe a rod of this magnitude would arrive like this. Broken....disappointed.....and back to Shimano

Very disappointed for the false advertisement. This is not a 2-piece rod. This rod is a telescopic one piece rod that allows for only the bottom portion of the rod to sink into the handle. Essentially converting from an 8.6’ rod to a 7ish’ rod. I was a looking for somethings that I could separate into two 4’ segments for travel ease. Cannot comment on durability or quality but at a first glance the grip and tightening mechanism looked cheaply made. Returning asap.

To me this new Veritas rod feels strange - the robotic-like stiffness, I think. I have the two generations of Veritas rods - feels normal.I also have several of the new Abu Garcia Veracity rods with the Powelux resin, too. These feel normal - higher-end normal.

I gave this two stars as the rod was exactly what I want and great quality material, however, rod and packaging came in broke.. never order a rod online.. learned my lesson.

Stellar rod. Light and comfortable but If you ask me this rods an xtra heavy it's a total pool cue. Super stuff with virtually 0 bend.

Love love love this rod. I paired it with a low profile Abu Garcia baitcasting reel.
