Amazon Brand – Pinzon Heavyweight Luxury Cotton Washcloths - Set of 2, 12 x 12 Inch, Marine

While replacing all of our bath towels in Oct., 2015, five brands of towels, all highly rated on Amazon were purchased. Not being able to see or feel the towels firsthand was problematic-others’ reviews played a big part in the choices made. “Thick and luxurious” is an individual viewpoint. Overall, all five brands fit this description. All are soft, reasonably thick, and absorbent.All were initially washed in the same way: Step 1, Warm water with one cup of vinegar, nothing else, no drying them yet; Step 2, Warm water using half the normal amount of soap, one fourth cup vinegar in the softener dispenser, and an extra rinse. They were dried on low heat in 15 minute increments, cleaning out the lint trap every 15 minutes until dry. New towels lint--period, just like most leaves on trees eventually fall off the tree. Address it on the first few dryings, much less lint later!; Step 3, Final wash of warm water, half the normal amount of soap, one fourth cup vinegar in the softener dispenser, and an extra rinse. They were dried on low heat in 20 minute increments, cleaning out the lint trap every 20 minutes until dry. All are now washed in hot water with a small amount of bleach crystals to sanitize thrown in the tub, 2/3 the normal amount of laundry detergent, one fourth cup vinegar in the softener dispenser, and dried on low heat. No vinegar smell persists, and all are still soft and absorbent. There is NO excessive lint.My reviews and ratings-*5 STARS. Cannot get my ears dried out! The hand towels are a nice 20” by 30” size. They both take very long to dry, so I tend not to use the hand towel very often. A daily go-to towel bath towel for my use. Didn’t get washcloths in this brand, but did get their hand towels. The 16” by 30” hand towels are now 15” by 28 ½”, still a reasonable hand towel size. I initially thought the hand towels did not feel as thick as the bath towels. I sent an inquiry through Amazon, and received a reply that someone would get back to me within 24 hours. Never heard from them! But, they seem fine now. Just wish the hand towel was 18” by 30”, it would be just about perfect and worth a little more money. No pulled threads or unraveling seams after almost four months of constant use.*4 STARS. Superior 900 Gram Egyptian Cotton (6-Piece Towel Set), White, Superior. Soft and smooth, tightly woven, VERY thick towels. Again, my husband gets this bath towel. I donated the 2 washcloths, they are just too thick for practical use. Generously sized hand towels, 20” by 30”, but again, they take SOO long to dry that they’re not used very often. One side seam on one bath towel is unraveling, and I am not even going to try to sew this extremely thick towel-going to the rag bin. No pulled threads after almost four months of constant use.*4 STARS. LUNASIDUS Bergamo, Luxury Hotel / Spa Washcloths, Bath and Hand Towels, 100 Percent Turkish Cotton, White; (Similar to the Turkish Luxury Hotel & Spa (Salbakos) towels and washcloths) Soft, thick and fluffy towels. A daily go-to towel bath towel for my use. The wash cloths are thick, but can still be used to wash your ears. These towels and wash cloths ALL have a large, synthetic fabric label, PLUS a paper type label, and both labels are irritating on your skin. Finally just cut them both off. The hand towels that started out as 16” by 30” have shrunk down to 13 ½’ by 26”, they’re bordering on too small. One of the 6 hand towels has a pulled thread in the middle of the towel about 2 inches long.*4 STARS. Fecido Deluxe Hotel & Spa Extremely Absorbent 100% Cotton 4-Piece Towel Set, White Bath, Hand, Fingertip Towels and Washcloths; Soft and fluffy towels, a little thinner than the other four brands., but still absorbent. They are a very brilliant white compared to the other four brands. One end seam on the HUGE (39” X 19” hand towel!) unraveled, but Fecido responded promptly. I just kept the towel since I’d already sewed it up the seam.After four months, the two winners are the two brands that have not had any issues-Pinzon by Amazon and Turkish Luxury Hotel & Spa (Salbakos) from American Linen. 820 grams is just two thick a towel for my personal preference, and takes too long to dry, but my husband likes them. And after four months, I would probably purchase nothing but these two brands, so my husband can have the heavier towels and I get what works for me.I’ve attached a few pictures showing various sizes on the hand towels, a ripped seam, a hanging thread, and the thickness of the bath towels.. Overall, sight unseen, quality bath towels. Depending on your budget and personal preferences, I’d recommend any of these 5 brands of towels.

Each one has different pros and cons...I purchased white towels in each category so I can't comment on color-fastness.THIS TOWEL...(((Amazon: Pinzon Luxury 820-Gram)))Heavy weight towel. Very well made. Would definitely last a long time. The cloth is very dense. However this towel is not soft. It would probably last the longest out of any of them, but too rough for my taste.---Scroll down for revision from 2013. This changes over time/use of the towel.(((Overstock: Luxury 800-Gram Egyptian Cotton)))Tied 1st place for my favorite. Heavy weight, thick, and soft enough. The loops are a little bigger than amazon's pinzon 820 and make it softer than that one. I will buy this one again to account for 3/4 of my towel stock. Even though it is heavy I could still wrap it around my body and my hair.(((Amazon: Pinzon 800-Gram Rayon Derived from Bamboo)))This towel tied for 1st place for my favorite, but not everyone in my family likes it. It is very heavy weight. It is the softest, silkiest towel I found on my quest. WOW! So silky in fact that some people may not like it, so it will only be part of my stock. It is too silky and heavy to stay wrapped around your body or head. It holds ambient room temperature, which in the winter makes it feel colder than other towels. But it is so soft and heavy it is almost like a blanket. This to me is the most luxurious towel, because I want a heavy, super soft towel.(((The Company Store: Bamboo/Cotton Towel)))This towel would be a nice compromise for softness versus weight. It is the next softest after amazon's pinzon bamboo. It is the lightest weight out of the bunch. It will stay wrapped around you and won't feel too heavy on your head. Everyone in my family liked this one. However I was looking for a heavier weight towel, so I did not buy these again.A note on laundry issues. All these towels absorb water well. I didn't find reviews based on laundry issues helpful. These will take longer to dry than thinner towels, however even the heaviest ones didn't take more than 45 minutes for me. If drying is taking too long, I would suggest to make sure you are not overfilling the dryer. Try adding dryer balls (or tennis balls or a dry towel) in with the load. Clean out your lint trap (the one that hooks to the wall). I didn't experience any unusual lint problems. Don't use fabric softener. It puts a slippery coating on the fabric that lessens the towel's ability to absorb water. I have a front load, high efficiency washer and I found that because these towels absorb more water that I had to use the 'extra water' setting and less detergent in order to get all the detergent rinsed out so they weren't scratchy.*** Revision Feb 2013 ****Above is my original review shortly after purchasing all of these towels. I wanted to come back and add a note to this about how the towels have held up. It has changed my recommendation on first place. My first place is now this towel - (((Amazon: Pinzon Luxury 820-Gram))). Reason... it has held up better than the other towels. Also it seems to have softened a bit with use - maybe the fibers relaxed a bit. Not sure. But this towel is now nicer than when I first bought it and I continue to reach for this one. This is the bulk of my towel stock now.

These Pinzon 820-Gram luxury cotton towels are beautiful beach sized bath sheets. They're very soft and very absorbent but are very heavy especially when wet. My 225lb husband had been complaining about the Costco bath sheets we'd been using and I stumbled across these towels and decided to pay a little more for better quality towels but he complains daily after showering about how heavy the towel is. The towels also take awhile to dry. I ended up purchasing the Pinzon 650-Gram Pima Cotton towel set and prefer them as they aren't as heavy but are extremely soft, wash well, are very absorbent and dry faster than these 820-Gram bath sheets. The problem I've encountered is the Pinzon 650-Gram towels aren't offered in the bath sheet size. Because he likes a bath sheet size I bought the Superior Brand Egyptian 600-Gram 2-piece Bath Sheet set which are well priced (two 600-Gram bath sheets cost the same as one 820-Gram bath sheet) but both the Pinzon 650-Gram and 820-Gram towels are better quality and if the weight of the 820-Gram Bath Sheet isn't an issue then you will love this bath sheet.

I love this bath sheet. It's very good quality. The colour I ordered 'sage' is perfectly matching my bedding and the size is superb. If you are expecting soft and fluffy this isn't for you as it is very dense therefore highly absorbent. Very fair price.

Las desventajas de este pedido en mi situación:-Realicé 2 pedidos de un mismo color (blanco), llegaron de diferentes colores (blanco y Ivory).-También tengan cuidado, insinúan que son 2 toallas por pedido pero al final me llegaron en vez de 4 toallas solamente 2. Espero pronto llamar para que aclaren este asunto.Lo bueno:La única ventaja es que el material de las toallas es bueno, se ve resistente y es 100% algodón

Conseguí un buen precio por el paquete de 2 toallas tamaño "paño" (12"x12" o 30x30cm aprox).Quede muy gratamente sorprendido, 100% algodón,suaves al tacto (aunque no la más suave) y algo pesadas. La fibras compactas y no muy grandes, por lo que de entrada no hay ningún tipo de pelusa. Buen bordado y acabados que de verdad se siente como un producto premium o de lujo. En el punto de la densidad absorben bastante bien, aunque tardar en secarse más tiempo.Todavía queda por ver la durabilidad luego de varias lavadas, pero en los primeros días de uso y por la densidad de la toalla todo va bien.
