Pavlidis Gioconda Classic Chocolate Bites

Great product overall but mine was deformed from the product being exposed to too much heat

Yes! I first tried Gioconda chocolates almost 40 years ago when I went to Greece to visit my grandmother. I think we picked up a bag of these to bring as a gift when we went to somebody's house for dinner, but after trying a few that night I became hooked for life. I distinctly remember the golden foil wrappers with a Mona Lisa image printed on them. I way too young to know what they were called (plus the writing was in Greek), but I could easily spot them by their unique shape and packaging. Ever since that time I have sought these out whenever I return to Greece (I've been there a handful of times over the years) or when I come across any sort of Greek market or festival. Sadly, these things have been almost impossible to find in the United States (even though they are manufactured by the Greek division of Kraft foods). If anyone I know travels to Greece for a vacation I plead with them to pick me up a couple of bags of these! As recently as a year ago or so I searched the internet for any distributor that might carry them, and I had no luck; this is why I'm amazed to find two different offerings for these on Amazon now!As for the chocolates: unwrapping one is akin to opening a gift on a birthday; they are so fine that each bite is to be savored and appreciated. Inside there are a couple of layers of different types of chocolate (like dark with a creamy milk chocolate center) with bits of hazelnut to give each bite a perfect taste. I dare you to try and eat only one!
