The Big Apple is stuck in a rut of monotony, and most New Yorkers are convinced that the game isn't what it used to be. Maino is here to change that, raised on Nostrand Ave. in the heart of Bed-Stuy Brooklyn, the swagger-rich MC is poised to present a brand-new look to hip-hop with his debut Hustle Hard/Atlantic album, If Tomorrow Comes... "It's time to breathe new life into the New York hip-hop scene," says Maino, and he does so by blending gritty lyricism with riveting street flair. Combine this with a magnetic confidence that's both hard enough for the fellas and appealing to the ladies and you have a proven formula for success.Maino garnered a ground swell of attention via various mixtape appearances. Dubbing himself "Brooklyn's Future," the determined upstart proved he wasn't afraid to put his neck on the line to get results - or a nice buzz. With a drive as aggressive as his music and with a vital ally in T.I. - who saw some of himself in the self-assured New York rapper - Maino landed a deal with Atlantic Records, "Being at Atlantic I feel like I can go to another level."Before Maino gets his opportunity to ascend to hip-hop's elite echelon, If Tomorrow Comes... is going to have to acquaint him with the masses that might not be familiar with the hard work he put in under the radar. One listen to the vibrant club banger "Hi Hater" and you'll see why it's easy to root for the bad guy. Produced by newbie Mista Raja and Maino, with a classic Jimmy Spicer sample, the track is the quintessential anthem that'll help Maino crack the repetitive rotation on hip-hop radio. "You got to make records that compete," he says. To ensure that Maino makes a serious push to become the "new life" in hip-hop, If Tomorrow Comes... is stacked with a broad spectrum of bangers. Along with collaborations with B.G., T.I., and Cool & Dre, Maino's debut leaves an indelible mark on first impression. "Now that I got it, I want to make it work."

Very Good Album
I've been following Maino since his mixtape days, trying to come up dissing all the stars. Sounds cliche, but he was original, fearless, and funny. Anyway, I'm glad to see him finally get recognition after all these years. I usually don't buy cd's, but in this case I had to make an exception. I would recommend it to anyone who supports the real artists in hip hop. Considering there are only a few left. I know I didn't get into the album itself, but in short it's a solid cd.

Maino's 2nd album is another solid 4 star one
9 months since his debut "The One And Only" (also a strong 4 star album), Maino returns with another solid album. This one has a little more commercial appeal to it, but he still has his street tracks and nice delivery, that made me like him when I first heard him back in 2005 on some mixtapes. This one has 14 songs, 2 are classics, 3 are ok, the other 9 are good, a few being real good songs. You get deep songs, some street gangsta/hustling tales, and a few radio friendly one's on here. Guests aren't too heavy, rapping on 2 songs and doing the hook on about 5. Production is pretty good as well. GQ Beats, Versatile & Dilemma, Mista Raja all do 2 songs, Swizz Beats, Da Beatstaz, Blast Off, Just BLaze, Justice LEague, Mush Milllions, Chris Styles, Charlemagne all do 1 song. A nice album to have from a very talented rapper.#1 - 8.5 (f/ Swizz Beats -- upbeat track)#3 - 9 (f/ Push Montana -- nice beat)#4 - 8.5 (f/ Bradd Young)#5 - 9 (f/ BG -- nice beat)#7 - 7 (f/ T-Pain)#8 - 8#10 - 8#11 - 6#12 - 8.5#14 - 9#15 - 7.5#16 - 8 (f/ Trey Songs)#17 - 10 (CLASSIC -- deeper song with tight beat)#19 - 10 (CLASSIC -- great beat -- f/ Jimmy Starnes)Jermaine Coleman -- Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, NYCheck all my reviews

Breath of new life into a uncreative rap world
This CD is set up as if your watching a movie and it paints the picture of what he's going threw and trying to get across to the listener brilliantly. Not to menchine the actual music is great he has a nice flow and his lyrics are far better than the lazy things floating threw the airwaves nowadays. I recomend this cd strongly and I've been waiting for it for a while now since I've heard a few of Maino's mixtapes. Go get this cd or order it you won't be dissapointed. P.S. Rest in peace to the King of pop Michael Jackson !!!!

Very Pleasantly Surprised
I like to listen to the Hip-Hop station on Sirius radio when I am driving to get a heads up on some of the new artist & releases. I happened to catch it one afternoon as they were discussing Maino and the quality of his music. On their recommendation, I purchased it on its drop date and I have to say I really enjoy this CD from start to finish. I do feel he speaks a bit much on some of the tracks but still, a nice CD to pop into the player & ride to.

Amazing debut
I first heard about Maino on The naked truth album by Lil'Kim.He was on the track Gimme that. After that song I haven't heard a lot about him.A few months ago I started to look after him on the net and I found out about his mixtapes and videos.I loved Hi hater, the remix of it and All the above.Because of these tracks I wanted to get his album as soon as possible.I ordered it from amazon on the 1st week of it's release. It's an amazing album. All the tracks are great.Good storytelling in all the song, great beats and I don't miss the featuring artists.Favourite tracks for me are (beside the singles)Back to life,Remember my name and Here comes trouble. If U like hip-hop this is a must have in my opinion. If U liked the singles U have to buy this cd.I hope he will have a lot of success with this. And I can't wait to hear his next albums.Once again great beats, great lyrics, great album.Well done,Maino!
