Practice Makes Perfect
Bought to learn a few new knots for boating. It's became pretty handy on the boat. Between the fishing and camping knots guide's I like how I can reference them for the perfect knot. Great product and super fast shipping.

Super handy, but small print
This is a great little collection of instruction cards and some practice line in three different materials and thicknesses (paracord, large cotton line, and monofilament fishing line). Super handy to tuck into a backpack or camp box, fishing tackle bag, or in a drawer on your boat. The way the knots are organized onto activity-specific card collections is a great idea, and I do find that these are really the most useful common knots in each of these categories. My only problem is with 50 year old eyes, I find the cards hard to read because they are very small and the print is extremely small. Even with readers on, the print is nearly impossible to read. But if you're young and still have well-functioning focus mechanisms in your eyes, this probably won't be a problem. But if you wear reading glasses, you might want to look for something in a larger format.

Nice, little kit.
If you need to learn to tie different knots, this is a good way to go. The cards are plastic, so water won't hurt them, and they are divided into sets for fishing, boating, and backpacking. I used to know many of these, but I haven't used some in years, so it was time for a refresher! Each set has a grommet in the corner to hold them together, and there are knots shown on both sides. They also provide three carabineers which you can put through the grommets if you want to attach them to something. The illustrations on how to tie each knot are clear, at least to me. The kit includes some monofilament to practice the fishing knots, some rope similar to clothsline, and a bundle of what they call paracord. It is about the thickness of paracord, but doesn't seem to have some of the lines that are in the center of genuine paracord. It is fine for practicing the knots, though. As I said above, it is a nice little kit.

Useful and nicely done
The more I've kayaked and hauled stuff on my car's roof rack, the more I have had the want to learn how to do knots better. The approach with this set is that it provides plastic cards focused on outdoors, fishing, and boating. Each group has materials to practice with associated with the particular group. Which I think is a great idea.I've found this helpful, but have yet to devote enough time to really get what I need out of this. Having said that... I am very happy to have this at hand when I finally do get frustrated on this or that and THEN really really want to learn to do better. Future planning perhaps.I hope this helps you

Excellent educational and instructional tool
The key component of this set are the three different knot tying guides. Separated into fishing, boating and camping knots. There is of course some overlap but each of these plastic card sets has detailed instructions as how to tie the specific knots used most commonly in each of these activities. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Also included are some lengths of line/rope with which to practice the various knots. The card sets are small enough and durable enough to be taken along and used as a refresher or tying resource on location.

Did not come with a carring case.
I wanted this to use as a gift. Cannot give just a bunch of small items with nothing to hold them. Very disappapointed.I'll never order this again.

Thorough Guides & Durable Practice Rope
This knot tying set comes with three waterproof guides that are packaged separately and with a hook for attaching them as well as three different ropes to practice with. The ropes themselves are a good quality and strong to withstand practice. I found the guides to be very thorough and include pictures of each step with the name of the knot and the purpose for using this knot.Personally, I have been looking into wilderness survival as well as hiking and backpacking. This kit is fantastic for beginners such as myself with limited hands on experience with knots and their uses. This kit is great to have on hand as well as to practice before your adventure; I would definitely recommend it.
