You can always count on Gates brand for quality. I bought this for my 2002 Chevy Tahoe LT having the 5.3 Vortex motor. It comes complete minus your fan clutch and cooling fan. My running tempuratures were a little higher prior to having to change my water pump due to seepage of coolant. It was probably just a deal but none the less, I didn't have time to figure it out and my original water pump has seen thousands of hard miles as I travel a lot. Since installing this pump, I have monitored my tempuratures and running about 192 instead of around 210 degrees. Yes I put fresh Orange coolant back in the radiator but had my coolant concentrated to deal with minus tempuratures down to minus 20. The water pumps are brand new, not rebuilt. Comes with the tstat and water neck installed already making for an easy replacement. Now it's about replacing front brakes. Welcome to the wonderful world of vehicle ownership. Five star product

Perfect fit replacement for my 2000 GMC Sierra 5.3L. Fast delivery, in a factory sealed package. I like that it came with the required gaskets, and a new thermostat pre-installed. Not that it’s a fun task, or a piece of cake, but if you are reasonably comfortable changing a tire or an air filter, and have some basic sockets, wrenches, etc. you should be able to do this in a couple of hours. Lots of videos on YouTube.

Waited a few years prior to reviewing. Part was fairly easy to install. After about 60k miles now - no issues. At the time of purchase, this part’s cost was about 25% less than the brick & mortar stores. Very happy with purchase

So I took a chance and ordered this in spite of the reviews complaining about the condition of the packaging upon arrival. It was exactly like the reviews. It came in the original box and was damaged and taped up. The pipe had a slight dent which I left like it was, but fortunately the gaskets were still inside and undamaged.The good news is it fit up and worked perfectly! 30 minutes after filling up the radiator, I drove over 100 miles without issue.

First Order was lost and took a long time to get but second came quickly after call to Amazon.Came with thermostat and gaskets which I liked no more shopping.So far pump is working the way it should be but too soon to give a thorough assessment as original had 350K on it and was still working.
