Great
The install was fairly simple, undo this put in that. The only issue I had with the whole thing is that I had to remove a little bit of metal to get it to fit 100%.

Decent build but.. alright.
Let me preface this review with - I obsessed over my intake before buying this.As far and installation and quality, it was direct and well made. There were a couple things that I wish was better though - the grommet for the pipe (from the shield) was very lose and the whole thing wiggles dispite being bolted to the shield. This isnt horrible considering it needs to be able to move from engine flex, but it could be a bit tighter. The other area that i wish was better was, the sheild does not protect from engine heat from under the filter - it is just open. Overall, the product itself is pretty good. BUT! let me explain why i'm wishy-washy.Before I bought this, like I said, I obsessed over my intake. I dont want to go crazy on modding, no tune, no exhaust, I just wanted better accelleration while maintaining decent/better MPGs. I tried several combinations of stock filter, K&N and a cheap "cold air" kit you can pick up from ebay (they also have 'em here on amazon). Heres what I found -Stock Airbox and filter - about 30MPG city, 40-46 HighwayStock Airbox with K&N - about 29MPG city, 39 HighwayModded Stock airbox (opened wide open behind headlight) and K&N Drop in filter- Same as just stock airbox (29/39)Cheap ebay "CAI" and Pod filter - 35MPG city,47-52 Highway (seriously, 52MPG @ 70MPH)Injen CAI - Same as cheap Pod filter. Each test was a full tank of gas and average miles driven/fuel put in. the car: a '12 VW TDISo, Like I said, I tried several things to try and get the best "bang for your buck". The pod filter *really* helped in my case. You get the acceleration you are here for, you get a sweet induction noise, a slight pshhh off petal and you also get decent MPGs.So, why did I buy this thing if clearly the cheap pod filter did better? Well, I had hoped that the cold-air-ness would give me a bit more umph and MPGs (I also got a decent deal on buying one). Did I? No. it was actually nearly exactly the same - Same MPGs, and same acceleration feel/times, but not enough to justify (for me at least) to spend the 230$ on getting a legitimate cold air intake. But, Alas, I have one and obviously I'm going to keep it.So, Am I happy with it? Yeah. It looks clean and I like it - it looks sleek. In Hindsight, I would've just kept the cheap aluminum ducting and just bought a Spectre or K&N Pod filter.Hopefully this helps. Your mileage may vary.I was actually quite surprised that the cheap pod filter open-air next to the engine did any better than the stock. After all the research I've done, as well as other trials/errors usually a pod makes it worse with the exception of induction noises (who doesnt like hearing their engine roar, amirite?)

If your tdi is deleted and tuned like mine you will see throttle response improvements
Only negative is the old air box supported the engine vibrations without it there is more vibration while idling I feel it in the brakes. So far doesn’t seem to cause any issues. But I notice throttle response right away. You can’t hear more turbo noise just the air being drawn is more distinctive. Definitely reducing air flow restriction.
