These are great tires but they don’t last long time and a hard to find in stock

I ordered the tires weeks before I ordered the full suspension bike I was going to put them on. Low rolling resistance with good cornering.

Got a Continental Contact Traveler to replace 12 year old worn Continental Contact. New version appears to be great quality and rubber is fresh and flexible as it should be. And it mounted without difficulty. Labeled "Made in India" (my old Contact was "Made in Taiwan").My "Blackwall" version does have a Conti-orange hash-band pattern on the sidewall so it is not plain black. It is not reflective so it is okay with me ....

Wanted a wider tire with enough for off roading

This is very unusual for me - a Continental tire that I didn’t like. I’ve been riding nothing else for probably 30+ years. I’ve probably bought more than 5-6 pairs of gatorskins over the years (always loved them). Normally the tires that come stock on new bikes are junk and usually replacing them (usually with Conti’s) is the best bang-for-the-buck upgrade you can make. Not so in this case. Got an awesome new Trek FX Sport 4 that came with Bontrager GR1 Expert tires (700x40). First thing I did was order Continental Contact Travel (700x42) as replacement/upgrades. Three weeks later, I’ve actually gone back to original Bontragers. If i read a review and someone said that I would think they were crazy, but that’s what I’ve done here. By comparison, the original Bontragers are quite noticeably better riding - more comfortable, smoother, faster. They’re also wider, which is odd. At 700x40, they should be narrower than the 700x42 Conti’s, but they are actually wider. Using calipers, they measure as-rated at 40mm wide. But the Conti’s measure 38mm wide. I didn’t order the wrong size - the sidewalls say 700x42. I guess things are just different in the gravel tire category.

Just what i was looking for. Perfect size for rail-trail bikepacking (imo). I was surprised that they also have reflective bands.

Ich habe die Continental DuraSkin 26x1.75 Reifen auf einer Tour durch die USA von San Francisco bis New York City eingesetzt. Sie waren nach ca. 5500 Km durch, wobei wenn ich es nicht vergessen hätte die Reifen vorne und hinten ca. bei der Hälfte der Strecke zu tauschen, hätten diese wahrscheinlich locker bis zum Ende ausgehalten (6400 Km). Ich fuhr überwiegend auf Asphalt, allerdings sind die Straßen dort von unterschiedlicher Qualität von traumhaft glatt bis zum schrecklich rau. Ich fuhr ca. 5% der Strecke auf Schotterwegen bzw. auf sonstigen unbefestigten Wegen.Laut Herstellerangaben haben diese Reifen einen "Kevlar-Pannenschutz" – allerdings wird nicht näher erläutert, welchen Schutz man hiervon konkret erwarten kann. Mit diesen Reifen hatte ich schließlich 4 Plattfüße auf 5500 Km gehabt, zwei davon durch Kakteen in Colorado verursacht, einer durch ein Stück Draht und ein weiterer durch ein spitzes Stück Metall auf der Straße. Auf einer derart langen Strecke erscheinen mir die 4 Pannen als nicht zu viel. Die Straßenränder werden in den USA scheinbar so gut wie nie gereinigt, d.h. ich fuhr etliche Male über allerlei Schrott, Metall- und Kunststoffstücke, diverse Schrauben, Trümmer, Müll, und sehr viel Glassplitter. Entweder hatte ich sehr viel Glück, oder bringt das Kevlar-Zeug wirklich etwas.Der maximale Reifendruck wird mit 80 PSI angegeben, aber ich ging nie über 75 PSI. Selbst bei diesem Druck laufen diese Reifen schon besonders gut.Z.Zt. sind diese Reifen nicht erhältlich; ich werde sie jedoch wieder kaufen, sobald sie erhältlich werden.

They are so fast for a near MTB size tire. I had a pair before but changed to narrower Sport Contacts. But now gone back to Travel Contact as they are: just as smooth (feel faster, maybe the extra circumference helps), look better on the bike, last longer, no punctures and are comfy.

Dieser Fahrradreifen gehört zu den besten Treckingreifen die ich jemals verwendet habe. Neben dem guten Grip auf unbefestigten Fahrwegen, sticht vor allem der gute Pannenschutz hervor. Die Kevlareinlage des Reifens ist nicht nur Marketinggewäsch, wie bei so manch anderem Markenhersteller, sondern der Grund warum man hiermit ganzjährig ohne eine einzige Panne fahren kann. Das Profil des Reifens bietet sowohl auf Asphalt als auch auf unbefestigten Wegen guten bis sehr guten Halt. Die Verarbeitungsqualität ist makellos. Alles in allem ein sehr guter Ganzjahresreifen mit einem aussergewöhnlich gutem Pannenschutz.
