Absolutely love this book.
The flow of it, the story of itself, the poetic rhyming... This was my favorite book when I was a teacher, and HAD to buy it for my kiddos. So here insanely cute.

One of the best childhood books!
This was a favorite of my husband’s family and now it’s a favorite for all the grandkids! I can recite most of the book by heart. You won’t regret adding this to your collection!

Love this book
This old fashioned book charmed my children 30 odd years ago and I hope it will do the same for my grandson. He's nearly 3 and a little young for this but will grow into it. Parents and grandparents will enjoy it too: the idiosyncratic characters, fantastically imaginative scenario, delightfully rhythmical language, and charming illustrations.

Tradition
I read this book to my children and they loved it! From first grandchild to the 4th, the parents insisted they have a copy to read to their children. So, tradition.

A classic to be shared with every generation!
I, too, discovered this book as a child and fell in love with it. I first came across it at my dentist's office when I was seven years old and begged my mother to buy it for me. She did and would read it over and over again to my sister and me. The illustrations are the best. We loved poring over the pages and examining the unique expressions the illustrator drew on every one of those faces. No two were alike. My mom called them 'zany'. We each had a favorite character in the book-mine was Bap the Baker, my sister's was Farmer Seed (whose hat comes down so far on his face all you can see is his nose and his mustache~hilarious!) But the most endearing part of this book for me and my sister were the rhymes. They were incredibly well thought out and the meter is perfect! Now that I'm a parent, I especially enjoy the message the book conveys: if we work together as a team, we can solve any problem, no matter how big! I enjoy reading this book to my children and look forward to sharing this book with my grandchildren.

My fav book
This was my favorite book as a child. I made my grandmother read it to me everyday for years. Bought it for my sister in laws baby shower and now I’m so excited to be able to buy it for my own baby-on-the-way.

Charming story and pictures
This story is a very imaginative and fun. The pictures are interesting and really capture a kid's interest in the wild tale. I love this book, and have bought several copies to share. Perfect for any kid under 12.

Hilarious
As a parent, I love this book! My kiddo though not yet. Hopefully he'll get my sense of sick humor one day! In the meantime, I'll enjoy the book by myself.

Very funny
I do have doubts about the plausibility of trapping four million wasps inside one jam sandwich, given the scale indicated by the illustrations, but it’s a very novel idea and would certainly be a good last-ditch attempt in the event of a wasp plague.

Witty
I love this book, I think it's very clever and the way it's written means it's enjoyable both for kids and adults alike. Drawings are a little retro, but kids like them!
