Norse Myths (Ancient Myths)

This book is absolutely beautiful. If you have an interest in Norse Mythology or just a collector of DK books I highly recommend this one. There were a few issues with shipping that caused long delays but I would wait weeks for a chance to skim these pages. Well worth the wait.

I love this book. It not only has superb illustrations, but the stories are simple yet full of life. It is easy to follow along, and not get swamped by to much lore, yet it is still very informative. A lovely addition to my shelf.

I really enjoyed this collection and what it brought together about Norse Gods and their world.

My 9 year old loved this book and was very happy with it.

I bought this book to read to my daughter. She already knew some of the stories, such as the death of Baldr and the ensuing punishment of Loki, and she's enjoying learning about the other gods; in her opinion, compared to Greek myths, there is far more fighting and much fewer people-eating monsters.It's a good option for primary aged children, it holds her attention and the various and rather strange chariot-pulling animals for each god or goddess amuse her. The writing style is clear and flows nicely, while not dumbing down the stories or hiding the admittedly gruesome details of some of them, so it's perhaps best if your child is not very squeamish or overly young (you can always skip some details, of course).

We're really happy with this purchase. This is a beautiful thick book with a high quality binding and paper. The illustrations are gorgeous and it's packed full of stories and information.
