This cable restored a sound quality I had forgotten my guitars had.
I have played guitar for about 25 years. Not in a professional capacity, but just for fun and relaxation. I have an electric Fender Stratocaster and an acoustic Ovation and a I use them both with a line 6 amp. Now that I am writing this, I would actually hate to think how long I have owned the cable I have been using, From memory it was around $25, and it is at least 12 to 15 years old. For quite some time it has had a loose connection causing noise when the cable is in certain positions. Given that I would only have to re-position the cable to get rid of the noise, I have always put off replacing the cable, but when the chance came up to get the D'Addario cable to review, I couldn't pass it up.I am familiar with D'Addario as I have used their strings and guitar accessories for many years, but I have never had one of their cables before. Before the cable arrived, at best, I was only expecting to have a cable that meant I no longer had to put up with the noise from the older faulty cable, but I was very surprised to discover that in addition to the fault that caused the noise, it had also been hiding something from me...Given that the older cable was the best cable I had ever owned in the past, I was completely unaware that it wasn't a very good cable despite its cost over 10 years ago. What I discovered after plugging in the D'Addario cable was that my old cable had been hiding a rich deep quality of sound, but that the D'Addario brought to the surface. To put it in the only terms I can think of to illustrate the change, I liken the experience to the difference between a $500 guitar and an $800 guitar - the change is really remarkable, and I feel like I got two new guitars. In my experience, the clarity in the notes, the richness of the base tones are so completely present every time I play.In addition to the difference in the sound quality, the cable itself is really well constructed, and the fact that it has a lifetime warranty is an extra layer of comfort for those not familiar with the quality of D'Addario products. I only play at the house so I don't need any "stage" distance but given that this is a 30 foot cable, it definitely allows for tremendous freedom for those who do need it.In summary, this is a little more than many other cables on Amazon, but for me I love the quality, and with a life time warranty, I think its a win win.

Amazing cable in looks and appearance
This is a great looking guitar cable, and it's somewhat surprising these coiled cables aren't more common. With my Parker Fly guitar and Fender amp, this cable obviously attaches securely, with a satisfying tactile feel. The little O Ring is just wide enough to hold it in place. There's a little branding on the actual plug, which is normally something I need just to tell one cable from another, but I suppose for a coiled cable it's just there for looks. The coil is consistent, and doesn't really tug that much on me as I play. It's definitely nice for avoiding tangles, but it also just looks professional. My guitar is black so the cable looks particularly sharp. I can move around really easily with this cable, which is deceptively long compared to how it will look all coiled in.I was surprised that I can actually hear a better tone with this cable. I saw that bit on the product description and thought that was silly, but there is an obviously richer sound, particularly at higher notes, which do not sound as tinny or annoyingly resonant as many higher notes on electric guitars can be. It really sounds 'right' to me. I hear no difference at lower notes.D'Addario is a great brand for many music products, but this one really takes the cake. It's pretty expensive for a guitar cable, but if you're using nice strings every few months, on a nice guitar, with nice audio processing, you probably will be amazed at how a simple and relatively inexpensive upgrade to the cable makes such a nice improvement.

High Quality Cable
I have a bit of understanding about how an instrument cables capacitance can affect one’s guitar tone but have never bothered to give it much thought beyond the typical suggestions of using your best quality and shortest possible cable from your guitar output. Reviewing this instrument cable is the first time that I have done a side by side comparison and I was rather surprised by the results. With the tone that I seek it was a pleasant surprise indeed. My desired tone is Low Gain Lo-Fi . What I mostly play is in the genre of the Band Bardo Pond, Space Rock/Psych Rock/ Ambient Loops and experimental in nature. For the type of music that I play it is a perfect choice for me but I am certain that it would not be for everyone. I tested playing various guitars (Les Paul, Strat, and offset) and various tube and solid state amps, both clean and with a variety of pedals (strong emphasis on fuzz and delay). I also used various cables from 6’-50’. I was very surprised at the side by side comparisons, I experienced a big drop in treble and upper mids and I found the tone to be as advertised: truly vintage sounding sweet with a full and spacious low and lower mid, just how I like it! The only cord of mine that sounded similar was a 50’ Monster cable that I rarely use in the studio where as I assumed that shorter was better, I guess that it is all about the capacitance ,The coiled design actually works great for me in the studio because the total length of this cord far exceeds my needs but doesn’t get tangled or twisted with other cables. If you play high gain Metal The I would stay clear but for Blues and Classic Rock I would strongly recommend trying it. This is not a 100.00 Pedal and is not marketed as such, it is however a well made and great vintage sounding instrument cable for under 40.00 and for that I give it five stars.
