It is not seperated like shown in the product picture
Outside of the label on the top of the box, there really isn't much indication of which is laser 5v and what is 3v. With some testing I can confirm that the 5v is the lasers with a black resistor on one side while the 3v is the one with the white resistor. While the product does do its job. I do find it frustrating that the company who sells it just bunches them together in one box. I had gone through multiple lasers that had overheated and started giving off a burning smell before I had realized the issue. Again while the product does work I would like to see the box give a better indication of which lasers are which and separate them.

Decent components
They all came in the same box there's no clear indication which is 5v which is 3v. Only difference is half of them have black resistors and the other half with white resistors. The resistors, either black/white, are all 91ohm. The black version measured slightly higher forward voltage of 2.5v. White version 2.3v. With both of them running at 5v. So I'm not sure they are that much different.Both ran at 5v overnight without any issues.Also the lens cap is threaded and adjustable but initially fixed with a little bit of glue.

Useful only within a couple feet
Laser is value for money for each one comes at about quarter dollar, but that's about it. The 3V laser burns battery so fast and becomes so weak within minutes that i had to add a second 3v to get decent visibility over 10 feet in daylight. Also, the laser is a pointer maybe up to 8 feet or so, and from that point the dot starts elongating into a cylinder.I gave it a 4 star cos of price and that it could be used in small DIY projects that don't need much distance. But be careful when using 2032 batteries - the 3v can chew it up real fast.

Good value
Happy with the price, even though my package was missing one (out of 40). As the wires are rather flimsy (30 AWG), I'm reinforcing them with heat shrink before my students use them.

Working great used 5 so far and tested them constantly on for 36 hours.. all working fine
