Man Seeking Woman: The Complete Season 1

I watched this show when it first aired and was expecting a more traditional style. The humor is so surreal! And the show came out at a time when I was also having my own dating woes. A lot of the humor comes from taking expressions and figures of speech literally. The show made me very curious about the book that inspired it and how someone could write fiction like that. the show is based on The Last Girlfriend on Earth, a collection of short stories by Simon Rich. The extremely short stories are as surreal as the show, but surprisingly poignant too. Who knew a story from the point of view of a condom could be one of the sweetest stories I've ever read? The original stories are unrelated, other than having the dating theme, but the show uses a consistent cast of characters, which leads to some inconsistent characterization episode to episode, but because of the surreal style, it isn't a problem. Some of my favorite episodes feature the sister as the main character (Woman Seeking Man).

This is a absolutely hilarious show that I don't think really caught on. Although I'm hearing that they are making another season. It's about a sort-loser looking for love. He and the supporting cast are perfect. The show is modern, quirky, and very funny. Highly recommended.

I really love this show, it has a perfect wit to it. The characters are all well cast, even Jay Baruchel (of whom I am not usually a fan). It also puts a perfect spotlight on many of our cultures dating rituals (in a very absurd, but very funny way) Well done, looking forward to season 2

There's no way this is the official DVD release. These are bootlegs. Excellent show though.

A perfect commentary on young adult life.

This series is a bit senseless and doesn't really go anywhere. The plot is not very entertaining, basically following the predicaments of a loser, it is even a bit dark. Boring.

Such a great show. I couldn't relate to any of the characters Jay Baruchel played before this show came out. However, this character is a perfect caricature of the everyman in today's dating scene. The writing is so good that I am honestly surprised that each episode can be so consistently funny.I really wish they would release this on Blu-Ray, as I am holding out for the HD version.

The disk I received was blank and refused to play in either a region 1, region free or region 2. It simply said FALSE.The seller asked me to pay to send the disk back to get a refund of my money, in the meantime the price doubled. I just wanted a replacement disk that worked.
