Great Value, highly compatible, worked out of the box
tl;dr; This dock is affordable, worked with anything I through at it and also has a usb-c adapter available separately making it great for older and newer machines if required.I now have two of there docking stations in my household, one originally for my mother for working from home and one recently for myself also for working from home, we both had slightly different needs with some overlapping so I will address both separately. My mother started working from home in lock-down and originally had everything plugged into her work laptop directly, she expressed she wished to have a second monitor which was not the laptop screen as her eyesight was not so good and that she also wished she had the ability to unplug and take her work elsewhere in the house from time to time but didn't want to spend a lot.I recently have been forced by work to abandon current remote login methods for a dedicated work laptop, this new laptop is usb-c only, but I also have an older dell laptop I wished to use it for also if I was going to the trouble of getting a dock. and as this was really only for work I didn't want to be spending much. This dock met all the needs abovePros:- It's low cost,- it's easy to setup,- haven't had any issues so far which doesn't add one more thing to worry about in my life as family tech support.- it comes with a range of charging tips for most older branded laptops and also has a handy chart telling you which tips to try based on your brand.- a not included usb-c adapter is available if required (which I now have) this is 40 pound new but can be found second hand for only ~20 euros.- it supported my 1440p monitor over the HDMI out.- Worked with my Linux machine.Cons: I honestly have not found any yet, but in the name of giving some effort in review I will be extremely picky for this.- it's not a big dock but the tip compartment does take up half its volume, it is removable but does not reduce its volume when doing so, having this also reduce the footprint of the device would have been nice.- the cables going to the laptop could be a little longerHope this review helps.

Decent bit of kit
I am very pleased with this, particularly for the price, but buy with caution.PositivesThis has allowed me to tidy up my cables on my desk.Really easy to use.It has an on/off button.NegativesThere is reason it is deeply discounted - it is a top quality product from about 4 years ago.USBb cable links to the computer through USBa cable. I bought a USBb to USBc to replace it an it works just fine. All the adapter plugs for power are for older loptops - don't expect it to fit your laptop. The HP connector does not fit the Elitebook, for example. I haven't found a solution to this (yet).Brick-sized power adapter.Note: over one year on and almost constant daily use, this is still working like a dream.

A Separate Charger may be needed
This universal docking station works well in every respect execpt for two issues. The first is that the charger with the Targus unit is not powerful enough to charge my laptop and therefore, I need to use my laptop charger unit and the charger unit for the docking station. The second issues is that the USB c cable included connects the data between the laptop and the docking station, and the power if a separate charger to the laptop is not used. When using the USB c cable, when backing up to a NAS drive, the docking station crashes as the USB c cable cannot handle the data transfer and power the laptop at the same tim. So, if you use this unit with a laptop, you will likely need to purchase a separate charger unit for the laptop and a USB c to USB B cable to enable the docking station to work properly

Worked great for a few months.....
This worked great for a few months but suddenly started experiencing issues with he audio. First a 'ticking' noise when audio was being played which later turned into only a very low volume being available despite the PC volume and speakers being on full. I tried with a set of headphones and another speaker to the same effect.Having given up and started using the jack on the laptop I ran into the second issue a few weeks ago where if I run both monitor outputs they will flick off and back on every minute or so. It's fine if I only use one.Clearly poor internal quality that fails soon after purchase.Avoid and find an alternative if you want a dock for more than a few months.

M1 Mac now runs 2 external monitors 👍
I bought this to allow me to run an M1 Mac book pro with 2 external monitors. 1HD and 1 4K.So far, it does what it says on the tim and I’m a happy boy.You do have to download some software so it’s not exactly plug and play but it’s not too complicated.
