Dell Certified 1TB Enterprise SATA 3.5" Hard Drive for Poweredge R710, R720, R410, R415, R510, R320, R420, R520, W/Caddy

The drive we received was a Dell EqualLogic Constellation ES. It comes up as "not certified" on our H700 RAID controller. I expected a standard Enterprise Dell drive that would be properly recognized without any warnings. The Dell Server Administrator flags this drive but it seems to function regardless.

I bought 6 of these last October and they are no longer showing up in my system. When I first received these items, I checked on the date it was manufactured and it shows 05 Jun 2009 which at that point I just wanted to return it but wanted to give it a try. After installing it in my servers and set it to RAID 5, I left it at that. These disk was only to be used as a back up for my VM's. Now fast forward 11 months, these HD are trash. I guess you get what you pay for. If you are serious about your servers, don't buy this. If you do, just beware!
