Product defect and no return!!!
I used to have one that worked great. But there is something wrong with the item that was delivered and it shows I can’t return and I can’t reach the seller! It doesn’t function properly. No matter how much I press it doesn’t release enough bubbles. The taste ends up close to a normal water. It’s a pure waste of money.!

Exceded my expectations.
I remember back in the 80's visiting my friend's house, where his dad had a carbonator contraption that we used to carbonate kool-aid. I've seen Sodastream in stores for quite a while and finally pulled the trigger on getting one after all these years. I did research, and the reason I chose this is that you can add carbonation to any drink instead of just water, which the sodastream insists you do, or you will void your warranty. I use this on stale canned soda, and it works like a charm. There is only one word of advice when picking flavors. Don't expect miracles with brand-name soda mixes; I was disappointed. It tasted like a poorly mixed fountain drink at a restaurant. Experiment with what you like, and I'm happy enough to finally find a diet grape product that actually tastes great!

Carbonata TODO

I love my new SodaMate!
So, up front, I've only had this for 24 hours, but I'll come back at some point to update it. I decided I wanted a sparkling water maker, because I felt really guilty about all those cans and bottles I was throwing into the recycle bin. I also wanted easier access when I wanted something fizzy, rather than running to the store all the time (especially during this pandemic) or grabbing a beer. I need to shed some of these pandemic pounds. After studying the various brands, I settled on the SodaMate because I could fiz up more than just plain water with it. It also had good reviews. I purchased the one without the gas canister since I can get those just a few blocks away and didn't feel I would ever need a small 10LT one. It arrived super fast. I wasn't expecting it until the middle of next week. I watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to use it just in case, but it does come with a user manual, I'm just do better with visuals...and it's easy. So here we go. My first full bottle was just plain tap water (chilled). It did a great job. I drank that in an afternoon, and it didn't loose any fizz in those hours. I made a second bottle, drank half and put the rest in the fridge to see if it held its fizz over night... opened it in the afternoon of the next day...and pssst...there it was... I expected that it would be flat but it wasn't. YEAH!! I'm happy!! I love this thing!!***Update, a few weeks later. Addressing a couple of issues I ran into over time. Initially, the fizziness level was really good, but over time it diminished. I thought it was because the gas bottle was running low, but it wasn't. After changing the bottle for a fresh one, the lack of fizz was the same...and it grew worse over time. It took a while to figure it out but here is the solution. First make sure you wash the infuser after every use under warm tap water. (give it a good soak now and then, too). If you are infusing more than water, it can back up into the main unit and clog that up. The instructions don't say this, but quickly tap the carbonating button once WITHOUT the infuser in place. (make sure your hands are clear of were the jet of air comes out to avoid a nasty frost bite). This was key in fixing the low carbonation problem for me. It ran like new after that. Problem 2: If you find that you experience a leak of air through the button at the top, check to make sure the gas bottle hasn't become loose. I noticed that after several uses, that I heard/felt air blasting out at the top of the unit (where you push that button). Then a fill or two after that, it appeared that the gas ran out. I thought it was way too soon since I had only done about a dozen or so liters. I opened the back up and saw that the bottle had unscrewed itself. So just check that now and then to make sure that it remains screwed in. I'm guessing that it's caused by back pressure.
