I never write Amazon product reviews, but I was so happy with this pool cover I figured I'd better write one so that other pool owners can find this product. I was quoted $1,500 for a pool cover plus installation by two local pool companies, and wasn't having it. Came here and found this pool cover, installed super easy in a couple hours. You'll need 5 gallon buckets or some heavy stones to hold the straps tight during installation, plus either rent or buy a rotary hammer drill, but all in you're talking less than $500 for a great-looking and heavy-duty safety pool cover. Can't beat it!

Installed this cover a week ago. Easy to install, came with installation kit and instructions. Cover lets rain water thru but looks like a solid cover. Had a really bad hail storm a week after installation that caused lots of damage to cars and plants but the pool cover was totally undamaged. Would recommend.

Hired someone to drill holes into the cement. I didn't have the tools and wanted it done right. Local pool company was charging 2I to install this. This pool cover and labor cost $700. Used ones with stakes around the pool and had to use water weights to keep it down. This looks a lot better and the material is much better than the cheap tarp we used in the past. Only negative is I am not sure how tight you can really go. Don't want to tighten too much where it rips the liner or damages the spring. We won't worry as much having our young daughter going near the pool. She probably won't fall in which she would with the tarp before.

Received quickly, item was packed somewhat loosely in the box which caused slightly more damage to the box than what is normally seen. Cover seemed to be of a high quality nature. The company gives a 12 year limited warrantee. The instructions were generally clear with the exception that the explanation of how the hooks and buckles tie to the straps was not explained, but I was able to figure it out. One other complaint is one stainless buckle was missing; I did not take this up with Brookstone/Amazon because I did not feel it would really affect functionality, I just put it on the side closest to the end where I felt there would not be as much loading. Tools needed for installation are: A ball-peen hammer, some type of marking device like a carpenters crayon or chalk, a framing square, chalk-line, tape-measure, silicon spray lubricant, water hose and nozzle, and a hammer drill with a 3/4" bit. It took me about five hours to lay everything out, drill the holes (I rented a hammer drill from a rental center) and install the cover. I did all the work by myself; it would have gone much faster with two people. I think next year I could place the cover on the pool in less than 30 minutes and take the cover off in less than 20 minutes.

While we liked this product at first it clearly hasn’t held up. First a spring broke - then slowly the straps have snapped. You can see from the photos where it is fraying, the orange straps are the fix my husband has used with clips to make it useable. This started happening about 5 months after owning it. I have tried to contact seller via email and phone - they are unresponsive. This product is supposed to have a 15 year warranty. Very disappointing. I will continue to contact the company or Amazon regarding this product.

Cover is thick without being overly heavy, appears it will withstand the ravages of time. Reinforcements under the straps to mitigate wear due to chafing. Straps, buckles, brass anchors all very good quality. Zero issues with installation. For the money I paid. Its very cheap material and thin. I dont like it ..AT ALL. VERY DISAPPOINTED ..by the materials looks likes its going to rip any min. Eith my animals walking around out side. I want my money back .

The product is a good product. We did have to purchase a new drill bit to match the size of the brass clips. We wish we could have thought to get a longer product that would have covered our stairs into the pool. We just measured the pool and purchased the cover to match.
