Delicious treat!
Delicious! They fall apart easily because they are soft, but I don’t care!

Soft, Crumbly, and Satisfying (5- Stars)
These yummy oat bars remind me more of cookies than granola-type bars because they pack intense sweetness with 9 grams of sugar per square. The texture is soft and somehwat crumbly, the last probably because they are made primarily of oats and oat flour, with only dried egg whites and liquid sugars (honey, molasses) to hold them together. They are not labeled gluten-free because they may contain wheat from the manufacturing process; however, the listed ingredients show nothing that would contain gluten, making them appropriate for people who are trying to limit gluten but not for those who are allergic to it. They may also contain soy and peanuts from the manufacturing process, even though those are not listed as ingredients. The flavor is awesome, and they taste wholesome, even with all that sugar and a fair amount of chocolate chunks. Even if they hadn't been labeled as USDA organic and Fair Trade certified, the first two ingredients -- oats and oat flour -- pretty much ensure that kind of flavor. The "squares" measure differently because they are irregular out of their individual packages, with rough dimensions of 2" x 2.5". They aren't big, but with 150 calories apiece, I find them as filling as any other granola-type bar.I find these to be a great grab-and-go breakfast (yes, I have a sweet tooth) or a satisfying mid-afternoon snack.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Delicious and organic.
Delicious AND organic? I bet a bunch of people are convinced those two words can't possibly describe the same thing.Surprise!! These organic soft-backed squares are really good. A perfect afternoon snack. Each bar is about 2" x 2.25" and about a half inch thick. May sound small, but they are filling. The texture is dense, but not overly so. Not overly sweet, and the chocolate chunks are perfectly proportioned so you get a good taste in every bite. I was expecting something a little more chewy -- these are actually kind of crumbly. So fair warning -- if you're eating this at your office desk, cover your keyboard! Overall, delicious. And the perfect size. The box says it is certified organic, non-GMO, and without artificial flavors or preservatives. Added plus, it contains fair trade certified ingredients (the sugar and the chocolate chunks).Cascadian Farm seems to be dedicated to offering healthy food choices, sustaining our environment (an entire panel on the box talks about saving bees by planting flowers, etc.) which makes me like them more.I have tried their other snack bars too, and I love them. Check these out! They are also available in blueberry. Yum!

Deceptive product packaging.
They taste good. They have a nice flavor. They are dry and crumbly. A little messy. Pretty pricey. The biggest complaint is the deceptive packaging. You buy this box at the grocery and it looks like you will get some substantial amount of food. The 6 smaller packs only fill half the box. And the actual square only fills 60% of the smaller package. So, you have this large box that is approximately 65% air and 35% product. That is deceptive. This subsidiary of the General Mills conglomerate is sure being wasteful shipping all this empty space.
