Mucinex Dm Cough Suppressant Extended Release, 40 tabs (Pack of 1)

I researched cough meds thoroughly and these got lots of very good reviews so I took a chance. A little skeptical since this is a tablet and not a liquid like I'm used to. It helped loosen congestion and acted well as an expectorant. I still coughed and even had a coughing fit or two but even so I know the tablet kept it from being worse. I've used Robutussin for many years and been very happy with it, except for the horrid taste (that's why I tried this tablet). I stuck with it because it dependably and completely kills the cough. I was hoping to replace the Robutussin with this tablet but, for me, the tablet didn't totally quiet the cough so I'll stick with my old standby.

It works relatively quickly, but doesn't last 12 hours. It feels more like it tapers off after the first few hours and then it's a waiting game to take it again. Make sure to take this with water or you might be slow to go in the bathroom.

Received it 11/01/2022 and product expired by May 2023. 7 months shelf life less than one year expiry. Disappointed. Not recommended.

I use this when my allergies are going crazy. Living in Oklahoma the winds blow in everything.

Saved my you-know-what when I got sick with this year's H3N2 flu virus. I couldn't afford Tamiflu let alone a doctor's visit. Two tablets every 12 hours. It really does work and it just as effective, if not better than Robitussin DM as a cough suppressant without that nasty taste.
