This is a trident style spearhead with five individual barbed tines for use in spearfishing. It is a very unique and dramatic shape but it is also very practical as it gives way to a very wide area to target. It screws well into the tip of our spear but I have not tried it on other spears, I'm not sure how universal they are. It has a bronzish golden color to it, which has maintained itself in fresh and sea water.I recommend this particular head for smaller fish that swim in a tight school. The prongs are a little short for getting a large tuna efficiently and humanely, as it will not be able to go all the way through and then hook it in. However if you are going after smaller game you may just very well get two on the same throw.Overall this is definitely a good recommendation for those that are seasoned fishing pros or those that would like to try this growing hobby.
