Functions, better quality than non-oem
I purchased three non-oem igniters before I spent the extra $13 to buy this one; wasting money and time. Two of the non-OEM versions I bought even glowed; but did not get hot enough to ignite the gas. I nearly mistook this as a bad gas valve, which could have been a costly mistake. Checking the ohms with a meter indicated that they were out of spec, while this item was right in the correct range, and glows much brighter and lights consistently.Since the install is somewhat of a pain, doing it only once would have been much more optimal.Don’t make my mistake, just pay the extra few bucks and get this OEM.

But before you need it.
Worked great. Only issue was I wanted until I needed it to buy it. Then bought two after having to manually light my furnace for four days in the middle of winter. Worked just fine

Fixed my furnace.
None of the local HVAC parts suppliers had this part in stock. I had looked at the less expensive and faster arriving part listed here but the reviews showed that a lot of them arrived broken. This part took 3 days to arrive and fortunately the temperatures here weren't too cold. Easy install and this OEM part fixed my furnace.

Gets the job done
Well I don't know how long this part will last but it certainly saved us from freezing temperatures. Good idea to get more than one and keep a spare.Be careful not to touch the heating element during installation. I guess the oil on your skin can change the conductivity, thus the current flow, causing parts of the ignitor to experience uneven heating, which will set the stage for a crack.

Must Have Furnace Replacement Part . . . to avoid an expensive service call
The first time our furnace quick working it took a service call to replace this small part, which ignites gas to produce heat. Although quick service, it was expensive service . . . costing over $200 for both labor and part (which was marked-up substantially). But, when done, I discovered the box for the part (with identifying code) was left behind. So, I went on-line, "googled" the part number), and bought a stand-by back-up to have on-hand the next time the igniter again burned-out - - - and they will burn-out within 3-5 years of normal use (i.e., "planned obsolescence"). The replacement part through Amazon is a fraction of the cost compared to having it done by a service call. The best is that it is easy for anyone to replace a burned-out igniter themselves. Just turn-off power to the furnace, open the service panel, and look for it just in front of the burners (sometimes a little hidden by tubing). Un-plug and un-screw the old igniter (just one screw) and plug-in / screw-in the new igniter. Replace the service panel and turn the power to the furnace back on. Tah, dah. (Oh, yeah . . . may as well clean the inside of the furnace while there's access, too.) I've had to do this twice now, and my latest replacement igniter cost just $21.94 (free s/h). One note: do NOT tough the "ceramic" part of the igniter. Any residual oil from your fingers will reduce life expectancy.

Perfect
It took a LOOONG time to arrive, which in Northern Indiana a furnace part in the winter, even overnight would seem too long. A 7 hour drive took 6 days from order time to delivery. However, it was the correct part, unbroken and when our furnace fired up we were thrilled. And warm.

Back up saves Money
Research on the web has brought to my attention that this part is the weakness of Natural Gas Furnaces. It is a piece according to several sources that has a 3-5 year lifespan. A while back I had a furnace failure in winter caused by the original Igniter that was installed 5 years before. I examined the replacement one 5 years after and saw it was going to fail maybe in the near future in approximately the same place. I replaced it before failure and obtained a back up to have just in case.
