Marshall MXL MM-C003GP Mic adapter for Go Pro Hero 3+ Camera

I use my GoPro mounted on my motorcycle helmet (chin mount) and the standard GoPro mic adapter sticks straight out and is very vulnerable to breakage. I’ve broken several of them in the past few years. I’ve always wondered why they never made a 90 degree adapter. Now that GoPro has discontinued their adapter, it forced me to take a chance on aftermarket adapters. There are many stories of cheap 90 adapters that don’t work, crap out in a few uses, only record on mono, etc. Not this one! Great sound, low profile, it does the job well. Another plus is, the mini usb housing (rubber around plug) is the same size as the GoPro adapter. So, if you’ve cut a hole in your camera housing for the original, there is no need to modify it. I made my adapter hole very tight tolerance and this adapter fit perfectly. It costs a bit more (over twice what a factory GoPro adapter costs) but it’s totally worth it. I’ll be buying a backup, but I don’t think I’ll need it, as this adapter does not stick out. This is the adapter GoPro should’ve made years ago.

I bought this for my sony mic adapter for my go pro so I can run a mic into my helmet to get better audio and less wind noise.So far so good, I've been through 2 of the official Go Pro adapters and they keep breaking after a short 3 month period. I have tried aftermarket ones before, especially the right angle ones like this marshall one, and they ALWAYS stop working after 3-4 weeks randomly. This one has good quality, that which is equal to, if not, superior, to the go pro.I've had this on for about 4 weeks now and it hasn't done it yet. I am going to give it 5 stars, if (when) it eventually stops working I will update this, and for every 6 months it lasts will give it a star. If there's no update, then you can assume that it's been working since the date I made this review.

Plugged into my GoPro Hero3 and nothing. Just get a popping noise like its trying to make a connection. Purposely tried the more expensive one because of the 90 degree plug and the hopes it would been better quality. Well I was wrong.

Compared to my 3 year old mono mic adapter that I soldered to make stereo, this microphone adapter is very bassy. I have my Sony ECM mic plugged in and using it while I ride my motorcycle. This adapter seems much more durable than my old one and the low profile is great; fits well with no issues while the GoPro is in the housing.I just wish the sound didn't come out so bassy. Other than that, it works and the audio is clear.

Its been a long time since i purchased this product but i still remember it as if it was today. I can only give it three stars because it did function as described. I had to dock it two stars however, because of its build quality. I thought Marshall was supposed to be a good brand but this was definitely not showing their good side. The wire was so thin and fragile I thought I was going to snap it or rip it out of the connectors every time I touched it. The female end of the adapter was crooked and didn't really fit the male end of the mic wire all that well. The usb end that fit into the gopro was also crooked/bent but it fit just fine.Three stars.

I had the movo adapter for my gopro hero 4 which totally destroyed the usb connector. Fixed my gopro and bought this adapter and has been great the past 2 years. It sits flush with the gopro so if you ever accidentally hit the adapter, it doesn't act like a pry bar like the movo adapter. Sadly, it started to fail and lose audio in the left channel however I am not surprised since things like these have to be replace every now and then. I'm about to purchase my second one and there's not another mic adapter I trust more than the Marshal MXL mic adapter!!

I really like this product and it was working the way I wanted until after a few weeks my audio started breaking up and now I have dead silence for minutes at a time. I am ordering another one and I'm hoping this was just a short or something. I'll upgrade to 5 stars if the second one works but if I have the same issues, I'll have to downgrade to a 1

I have connected different mics and the sound quality is perfect. I'm using it with a wireless Comica mic now and it's great.

these adapters sometimes dont work as advertised so I was a bit skeptical. upon receiving the product i did verify that is works well connecting the sony ECMCS3 microphone with my gopro hero3+. I'm very happy with this purchase.
